Re: Selling my 3800SC project Fiero

Haven't talked to you in forever Paul, I'll send you a PM. End of an era, sort of. The era ended long ago for me, trying to get down to just having grandpas 88GT in 100% condition and no more projects in the yard.

Selling my 3800SC project Fiero

After I think 10 years it's time to finally recognize I'll never finish this car and sell it on. I bought this car when I was 17 and did the 3800SC as a Senior Challenge project. I then drove it as an extra car for a couple years, took it apart to paint it, never got around to that... and 5 years la...

Re: Dyno tuning the setup

Well shame on me for shorting you.

Is that with or without nitrous?

No correction factor? You could easily find another 100whp through an arbitrary correction factor you can't explain. :-D

Re: Dyno tuning the setup

Why not put it into desktop dyno and just put those numbers as your sig.

My guess is 380/410.

Thanks, car hasn't changed much since this post but my dad did put over 10,000km on the car last fall, so he really seems to enjoy it.

Re: Closed loop boost control

I am looking at running Nistune for programmable engine management and I do not know that Nistune supports a boost control solenoid. I also don't know that I am ready to go to Nistune yet, so I was considering buying that GFB product in the meantime if I will get a noticeable improvement out of it. ...

Closed loop boost control

Turbotech, not Fierotech, but it'll be fine. I own a fair number of turbo cars, but most of them are factory turbo cars that I haven't modified, so pardon my ignorance. I was watching a video on Haltech's youtube channel about closed loop boost control and holding a wastegate shut longer to decrease...

Re: Moar JDM

Car does have the digital dash. Soarer Aerocabins (convertible) are super cool, but they only made like 500 cars, I have not seen one for sale in Japan. There was one for sale in the US for close to 10 times what I paid for this car in Japan.

Moar JDM

Been bringing in a few more cars here and there for friends, my dad decided he needed in on the JDM action. He wanted something different, something you don't see (Skyline is immediately out), had to be automatic, but still interesting, quick, etc. Got him this: [img]https://s21.postimg.org/b7nq2yum...

The Dark Side of Will wrote:To me, "beating" on a car would be behavior that reduces the service life of the vehicle or some of its components.

This was my definition as well, apparently, it makes me less of a car enthusiast because I don't do it.

Do you "beat" on your car?

Sort of a non sequitur, but someone was giving me unsolicited advice on my own car (literally my favorite thing ever, ermagerd.) and they said well since you don't "beat" on your cars like I do, you should just be good with an OEM part instead of some absurdly priced reinforced part. Am I ...

Re: Who knows their iron duke TBI?

It quickly became much more effort than its worth. I'll do the electric lift pump, play with the water choke one more time, and then relegate it warm weather only driving.

Thanks for the insights!

Re: Who knows their iron duke TBI?

I enjoy driving the car as is, in fact I drove it to work the past 2 days. But the warmup time and constant fiddling annoys me a bit. When this was a sub $200 junkyard fuel injection idea, it was cool. The fact of the matter is this car is worth like $3,000 on the sunniest of days, so going to true ...

Who knows their iron duke TBI?

Yeah, that's right TBI! So I have one of these https://i.ytimg.com/vi/pL2g1mIXK9A/hqdefault.jpg 1972 Mercedes 220 gas. 72 makes it pre-DOT do it's got the euro style bumpers, taillights, big bakelite steering wheel, etc. Ton of fun to drive... when its warm. It has a bastard of a Stromberg sidedraft...

Re: I was told I would receive my own forum.

The 255 would be if I was just doing premium unleaded tune. Another local R32 friend has an aeromotive 340 in his car for 93 octane tune. Most people seem to do the Walbro 410lph E85 compatible pump in the R32 if they do corn. North of 500whp you seem to start breaking and going through other stuff ...
