Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
I'm working on it. Not sure of you recall but I got hit with Covid19 twice and then I got the really good news with Stage-IV cancer. I beat that in the last year and jumping back into lots of projects. This is definitely on my list but I have some catching up to do.

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
I need to connect with a foundry near me that can handle aluminum and steels. Our aluminum crucible only holds about 10 lbs up in Milwaukee. I can print the sand molds. I just need a place that can pour. The printer resins are like thermosets vs thermoplastics. Once cured they only soften slightly a...

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
@ SappySE107 The 100C I referred to is the operating temp of the intake manifold. The additive process is mSLA where monomers and oligomers + fillers are polymerized via a photoinitiator + UV into a solid. It's not the same process that you are used to, FDM/FFF (aka CNC glue gun) where a polymer fil...

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
I'm thinking about resin printing these with a printer similar to what I posted a pic of earlier. 100C isn't a problem.

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
In all humility I have never worked for Ferrarieven Ferrari had to go from a 60 to a 65 degree bank angle on their V12's because packaging a fully developed intake tract in a 60 degree valley is legitimately difficult.

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
Since I'm designing it I can make the runners anyway that works. When I said slice before I meant the design not the actual old manifold.

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
Anyone have rough measurements for the lower manifold X-Y as viewed from the top or bottom? Measuring tape accuracy is all that is required.
I might be able to fit it into this printer.

It's a mSLA and I can make resins hold up to temp and stress.

Just have to leave room for the injectors and the seats with the tabs for the hold downs/clips.

Slicing the top off the current manifold and adding the ITB's might look like this installed. Only more pretty.

OK I see, fairly simple.
It's neat seeing the progression of the quality of the image sensors over time.
Edit:
https://www.v6z24.com/attachments/img_0041-1-jpg.95113/ I had a few questions until I saw this.

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
I had one sitting around until last year myself. If I was going going to make a bunch I'd cast them in aluminum.
What do you want up top, individual throttle bodies?

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?
I can cast them in aluminum, iron, steel alloys or stainless. I have access to a foundry.
Do you have an 3d models yet? I can also just scan an original or use it to make patterns.
On the additive side I can formulate epoxies and composites to quickly print them using mSLA.

Thanks for digging into all of this on these engines. Our project is still back in storage but might come in handy since these engines are so readily available in bone yards now.
