Re: Track brake pads for the 1988 Fiero

I have had really good luck with EBC Yellow Stuff Pads. They work awesome with my Stock 88 Calipers which are front on front and back of the car. I also have the 12" C4 Vette Rotors and a Big Brake Booster from Old Europe. The EBC's work amazing at the drag strip and on the street. They really ...

Re: Rare88 went faster again

Great work Amir. Slight sidetrack... Do you have any dyno sheets? I keep seeing your signature places, the one that says "over 400hp", and it annoys me to no end. Do you actually know what's being put down at the rear wheels? Yep, the car was dynoed at D&G Dynotune in Hennessey, OK ba...

Rare88 went faster again

Well went to the local Pontiac Uprising at our track here in Wichita, KS. I didn't get it on video from last weekend but I do have the timeslip. I think I'm pretty much at the end of the Supercharged setup. I was on stock timing and race gas because I was seeing how it would react. With 22 degrees o...

Re: 3800SC Low Mount Alternator Options?

Well got a friend to re-TIG weld this at his work today. Should have it up and going tomorrow. I'm also going to have him setup another low mount bracket with a v6 alternator bracket I have and a 3800 dog bone bracket as a spare or if other people might be interested, could possibly start offering t...

Re: 3800SC Low Mount Alternator Options?

Yeah, cast aluminum is not the best material. I'm waiting to hear what FIEROFLYER (Dan) says. I don't know if I can trust West Coast Fiero, it might take a year to get it. I was hoping Purple Reign might still make them, but I haven't heard back yet.

3800SC Low Mount Alternator Options?

So after 10 years my Purple Reign alternator mount broke. The welds just over time finally got brittle and snapped. I'd say it held up and I'm in no way shape or form talking trash on him or the design. What options are available that can be purchased these days? I'm planning on fixing this and maki...

Re: Rare88 runs 11.86 @ 114.65mph

Hell yea dude, congrats. that is def a good ET. One can not say the modded 3800S/C motors with the auto trans doesn't perform. A couple suggestions if I may? You may already be doing this but just in case. After each run, shut the car off and jumper the intercooler pump to keep coolant flowing thro...

Rare88 runs 11.86 @ 114.65mph

Went to our local Pontiac Uprising and busted off a 11.86 @ 115mph almost. I pulled a 1.68 60ft and did it all on pump gas, full street trim on Nitto 555R drag radials (fieroX drove it to a 1.66 60ft and a 11.87 1/4 mile, so I'm at least faster in my own car lol. Timing was only 16 degrees because I...

Re: 3800SC street racing and track runs

That is an 84 Porsche 911 non turbo. It's a helluva cornering car and has a roll cage as it used to be ran on a road course. It's a beautiful ride and handles amazing. Only has 65,000 original miles. I think the car could bust off a high 13 low 14 in the 1/4.

3800SC street racing and track runs

It's been awhile since I posted on here and have been out of chat forums for a while. I need to get back on here as fiero.com always hates on all my street racing videos but I post them anyways. I have a ton of videos from the past year of my car spanking some ass. From LS1's to 03 Cobras. I did how...

Rare.... you did what? the c5 setup like mentioned above or just 4 fiero front calipers? Thanks, sorry for the confusion.... Justin W I have 4 front calipers on my 87 and my 88. On my 88 I have 12" C4 vented/cross drilled rotors. No e-brake on either. Let me know if you have any other question...

Make sure you are running around 11.5-11.8 Air fuel ratio. That's where mine is set at. You should be able to run around 18 degrees of timing at most. I would just continue to tune and wait till you see a tick of KR and then drop a degree. Just watch for those parameters when doing WOT.

I did this on both my 87 and 88. Pedal feel is 10x better than stock. The rear calipers have to be adjusted properly to work and the e-brake just plain sucks and always gets mis-adjusted. I love not having it anymore.

New PB at the Track

This was done on a 2.8" pulley and my mods are listed below. This was all done on street Nittos. Ran a crappy 1.89 60ft and my first pass went 12.09 @ 114.8mph. With some drag radials and a good launch the car should pull a high 1.6 60ft and hopefully run around 11.6's or 11.7s. Car was seeing ...

Yeah no video, lol. I just decided to go out today, because today was the last day the track was open. I went 12.35 and 12.2. Just did 2 runs. It felt very strong. I think I will be able to crack 11's pretty easily with a 2.8" pulley and the throttle body. It is so nice to be able to drive it a...

Went to the track today!

Well I went to the track today. Went 12.2 @ 112mph. That's my new best with the Intercooler. Now I just gotta put on the 2.8" pulley and Northstar throttle body and I think I can pull off some 11's. Anyways, the car was on street tires and 1.86 60ft best. Just thought I'd let you all know what'...

Got a tune on it for now, and the wide band hooked up. It feels great, with no sort of detonation. Just waiting to get my N* throttle body put on and I will be all set for a real tune. I need to change my oil and check for any leaks as there does not appear to be any. I'll keep you guys up to date.
