99% sure pickardt performance is not the ls4 oil pan guy.
Moroso oil pan was done by a guy building monte carlos and mating them to 4t80s.
I actually had the same idea when I had my ls4 and found his oil pan by accident while researching options.

Re: Pauter rods for 3900 engine???
Yea I'm swapping over to an lz4 for the time being. Maybe I'll have the Pauter rods in a built engine ready to go by the winter or next year depending on my motivation. I am going to use my comp cam in the lz4 too that I had in my built 3.9. If you order a lnj cam, you might be able to send it off t...

Re: progress on the banshee...
I am very interested in spec-ing my own cam, after lots of research I do not think the reverse pattern Strip Cam is going to suit the LZ9 very well as the intake ports greatly outflow the exhaust ports. I do want to dyno it first and then see what I can pick up with nothing but a cam change. If you...

Re: Splayed Valve Heads Porting
Eric weingartner on YouTube will flow the heads either stock or ported, and give you the results. And it's cheap. Maybe 30 plus the shipping. He has a professional bench too.

Re: Splayed Valve Heads Porting
With the splayed valves I clean the flashing out throughout the port, and blend the bowl. I also open the throat to around 90-91% Without back to back flow testing, there is now way to know what works best and fiero owners aren't gonna invest just for these heads which I don't blame them. I wouldn't...

Do you have valve opening and closing events in relation to crank degrees?
Opening and closing events are just as important as overall duration numbers

Re: LZ4 3500 rod info and forged Pistons options.
I installed my old 1615 grind comp cam that I bought 15 years ago into this lz4. Since the piston comes up about .035 higher in the bore vs an lz9, I wanted to verify piston to valve clearance. Here are the cam specs. 225/227.6 duration @.050", .565/.526" lift w/ 1.5 rockers, 111 ICL, 111 ...

Re: progress on the banshee...
Here was the cam specs from my lx9 with the itb setup.
Don't know the vacuum it would make with a stock intake. It idled decent with the itb though.
225/227.6 duration @.050", .565/.526" lift w/ 1.5 rockers, 111 ICL, 111 LSA
Maybe you could input those numbers and see what you get.

Re: progress on the banshee...
I can't see Ben keeping cams in stock. The overhead would be thousands for him to do that, and he doesn't have that kind of money. All the cams he provides are essentially custom cams. He has to call comp and give them grind numbers. If you call comp directly they can make that same cam without Ben'...

Re: LZ4 3500 rod info and forged Pistons options.
Kinda curious what the lz4 rods can handle power wise. I checked some calcs and the 3.9 at 6500 rpm has a piston speed of 59.76 fps. The 3.5 at 6500 has a piston speed of 54 fps or about 10% less. I'd imagine the stresses on the 3.5 rod would be much less. However I imagine that since the lz4 rods i...

Re: LZ4 3500 rod info and forged Pistons options.
I put a set of my LZ cam bearing spacers and new bearings in this 3500 and I think I am going to give it a rip. See what a cammed lz4 will make power wise.
And hopefully make power all the way to 6500 vs falling around 5600 as before.

Re: Pauter rods for 3900 engine???
$1710 plus shipping with about a 10 week lead time. There are a few details I need to finalize with Pauter first before I order but I think this is the way I have to go if I want to make reliable power over 500 whp

Yea I think that will point right towards the axle though. It might clear pending how tight a bend you need or can get away with.
Just something to keep an eye out for. 72 new is dirt cheap though. Wow.
