Lnj camshafts for LZ swaps might now have limited availability

Gmparts direct shows the cams as discontinued. Howard did a part number search, and found some places with them still in stock according to their website. So I took a chance and ordered it, and they claim to have shipped with a tracking number. I'll wait for it to arrive to verify if it indeed is th...

Re: progress on the banshee...

Solder joint in the harness at the connector. By the time I got it fixed, batt was dead. Leaving the key on for 30 min drained mine down to unstartable. I think Odyssey even states the time to discharge somewhere. It's not a battery you have in a car that you take to a drive in(I'm old) and leave th...

Re: progress on the banshee...

If any EFI system of the last 25 years is working correctly, you'll never need to crank for 30 seconds. Mine wasn't working correctly. But in the diagnosing trying to figure out what was wrong, the battery took a shit. Turned out to be a broken solder joint at the crank sensor. It didn't happen in ...

Re: progress on the banshee...

I tried the 680 several times. If you have to crank for more than 30 secs forget about it.

I went back to the standard 40 lb batt. Wasn't worth weight savings

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap

Progress has been slower than slow but I got some work done the last couple of days. The front of the engine is back on, timing cover, new waterpump, and the coolant crossover at the heads as well as the lower manifold. I also painted the firewall side vc white, not sure if I'll install it but I wan...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap

Have a part number of what you're using? https://fuelsafe.com/1pla75/ From my layman's perspective I can justify the cost of the sealed nut ring but the plate and gasket are a little excessive. Hmm. I need to start writing stuff down. I did measurements on the tank along time ago and now I can't re...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap

I'm installing a slightly modified OEM 2020 Camaro SS/ZL1 fuel module into the fiero tank via a FuelSafe.com access panel and nut ring. The SS/ZL1 pump plays nicely with the ATS-V FPCM at it's maximum 15a at the standard GM PWM freq plus all the fuel pickup bonuses plus only 137$ with tax and shipp...

Re: Dyno'd the 3.5 turbo on E85. Results

80% humidity in Dyno cell. In January. Brutal. Great job getting it there! Are you thinking the stack intake is the big difference between this build and your last one? It was 60 degrees and 40% humidity the day before. A southwestern front moved in the day of the Dyno bringing back in higher temps...

That would have been impressive.

464 on 12.5 lbs at about 5900 rpm. My wastegate is setup for 14lbs. Close enough I guess.
78 degrees and 80% humidity in Dyno cell.
