Re: My NEW fiero turbo setup

having fun with clickbait titles. engine is fine. I used my factory 88 mount. I had to trim a bit of fat off the front underside of the pan to clear the factory 88 engine bracket, as well as trim some meat from the bracket itself. it wasn't hard. the aluminum pan has some support type fins underneat...

Re: My NEW fiero turbo setup

I am on stock rod bolts so I decided to call it a day right there. People were trying to convince me to go to 7k rpm. If I was naturally aspirated I def...

Dyno tuning the setup

I got it street tuned and its ok to drive around. I got some dyno time scheduled. Looking at 13-14 lbs for max boost. Then try it with a 30 shot. Gonna play with the timing to see how much that adds if any. Right now base timing is set to 8 degrees btdc Give me your hp and tq guesses. Turbo lx9 3.5 ...

Re: My NEW fiero turbo setup

So I gotta post up pics and details of my clutch drama and hopefully the resolution soon. I gotta use a real computer. Its all back together and seems to be working ok so far. I had the pressure plate modified by Tampa clutch from 1500 lbs of clamping force to 2200 lbs. For now a short video of the ...

Re: '96 DOHC with '91-'93 wiring harness

You might have to use the evap can from the donor car. The fiero evap had no sensor. If the donor uses no aensor than using the fiero Eva will be fine. Its just some vacuum connections.

There is a vent line on the fuel tank that went to the evap can. Hook that back up or leave it open.

Re: My NEW fiero turbo setup

So I had flywheel bolt back out. that's another thread and I hope I have a solution that will work. while I have everything apart, I sent the pressure plate out to be tested. I am using a spec 5 clutch and their pressure plate. I can't remember where I got it, but I might have bought it direct as it...

Re: 60* V6 Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel

I went down to my local ACE and picked up some washers. Grade 8 7/16 washer. The ID was an 80s cunt hair too small, but a sanding roll and 5 minutes got them all the correct size. They are 1.92mm thick, which pretty much makes them flush with the top of the counterbore. With the washer in place, the...

Re: 60* V6 Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel

I should have captioned my pics but I didn't but ill go back and edit. The two bolts are different lengths. No stretch. The shorter one was what was originally on my stock 2.8. I reused them on my 3.4 turbo setup and now with my 3.5 with the aluminum flywheel. The longer bolt is what came with the s...

Re: 60* V6 Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel

Bolt on left is 27 mm long. One on the right is 23mm. The one on left appears to be a gm bolt. Perhaps gm made them longer for the lx9 than previous years. Re: 60* V6 Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel

So major bump to this. I have installed an aluminum flywheel. I bought it second hand and it is a spec. I used the factory bolts that were in the 2.8 with this. pics will show length of these. I had an issue with the bolts back out. Once I didn't use Loctite. Flywheel started rattling after a few hu...

Can you use the sensors from the obd1 on the 96 engine so you don't have to change the harness?
