Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap

Progress has been slower than slow but I got some work done the last couple of days. The front of the engine is back on, timing cover, new waterpump, and the coolant crossover at the heads as well as the lower manifold. I also painted the firewall side vc white, not sure if I'll install it but I wan...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap

Have a part number of what you're using? https://fuelsafe.com/1pla75/ From my layman's perspective I can justify the cost of the sealed nut ring but the plate and gasket are a little excessive. Hmm. I need to start writing stuff down. I did measurements on the tank along time ago and now I can't re...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap

I'm installing a slightly modified OEM 2020 Camaro SS/ZL1 fuel module into the fiero tank via a FuelSafe.com access panel and nut ring. The SS/ZL1 pump plays nicely with the ATS-V FPCM at it's maximum 15a at the standard GM PWM freq plus all the fuel pickup bonuses plus only 137$ with tax and shipp...

Re: Dyno'd the 3.5 turbo on E85. Results

80% humidity in Dyno cell. In January. Brutal. Great job getting it there! Are you thinking the stack intake is the big difference between this build and your last one? It was 60 degrees and 40% humidity the day before. A southwestern front moved in the day of the Dyno bringing back in higher temps...

That would have been impressive.

464 on 12.5 lbs at about 5900 rpm. My wastegate is setup for 14lbs. Close enough I guess.
78 degrees and 80% humidity in Dyno cell.

This turbo is def oversize for this combo but whatcha gonna do

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap

Small spring upgrade I. Progress. This is a small upgrade over stock. Summit essentially says these are essentially a factory ls6 spring when it comes to spring rate. I verified the wire is slightly thicker than stock and the uncompressed height is a smidge higher than factory. This should add up to...

Tough call. If you're more of a 0-70 stoplight racer go auto. If you want it to pull past 80mph go manual.

Re: LZ9 and LZ4 Fiero Swap Parts

I would like to see an additional mount location at the pan circled.

And a gusset on the backside of the vertical section. There seems to be plenty of room.

Trimming of hinge bracket necessary for the Lucerne mount? Isn't that the water manifold already employed by a member here?

Re: Lz9 rotating assembly weights

Cutting (grinding) the crank would not change the piston compression height. Offset grinding the crank like Upson did would change the required piston compression height. I guess Ti rods for a 4.3 V6 would be too expensive as there are no factory take-outs to snag used. Don't the LZ4/9 use the same...
