Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap

I don't run any left brackets on my engine unless it's going in or coming out I left this one on but it's easy to take off if need be. I might be mistaken but don't the fastback decklid sit a bit higher than the notchbacks on the underside? I thought the bracing was different or something. It's not ...

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap

Not that anyone cares but more modifications to Eric's mount were needed, just small ones, and we also incorporated the factory front bracket. It's bolted to the cradle now for the last time presumably. I have the belt routing configured, and I think we need somewhere around a 67inch belt. IMG_20241...

Re: Participating in the GRM 2022 challenge

So I forgot to mention, but this year the 240 went back to the grm challenge for 2024. We did well. I think we finished third in class, and 13th? Overall. I don't remember, and the magazine should be out a month or two back, but I don't subscribe to it so no idea what it says. Maybe someone here has...

Downdraft Webber's are a bitch to tune, but would essentially act like an ITB INTAKE.

I'd donate my iron head itb intake just for fun, but I just sold it.

Re: LS4 build

Stock engine rods and pistons can handle 500 HP no problem. Even something of a small upgrade in rods and pistons can take you well beyond what the trans can hold. Imo no reason to spend gobs of money on a bottom end for a 5.3. upgrading is fine of course, but spending extra money for all the best i...

V6 Chevy power manual has an idf setup similar to what you modeled there.

Re: 2.8L, 3.4L DOHC Dyno time waster

So msd and maybe Edelbrock makes an ignition controller for the ls1 engines when converted to carb. You might need a coil on plug setup, or a way to adapt to your vacuum dizzy. That might work.

Re: Lz9 rotating assembly weights

No balancing required. Drop in as weights are really close. Within 2 grams of the bobweight. I measured some things wrong in the first post. I'll have to go back and edit. My weight for the rings was off by 20 grams. Don't know how that happened. So the new pistons and rods per the math are within 4...

Re: Lz9 rotating assembly weights

Meeting my machinist tomorrow so wanted to bump this to make it easier to find.

I'll have updates on the new rotating assembly with forged parts. I am surprised by the phone call I just got concerning these new parts and the balancing.

Maybe 1.5 rocker might work.
You'd have to check geometry.

I wouldn't say I'd be getting out of fieros. But the idea of opening up my garage for a bit sounds appealing to me.

Good luck. I am sure you will find something. If not I'd consider getting rid of mine. It's just so far away. I'd pull the LZ swap for you to make it more affordable. I have the upgraded rear suspension hardware too which I think isn't available anymore.

Re: progress on the banshee...

I'd call Powell cams to see if they would try to do a vvt regrind. Send one off, and see what they say let him put eyes on it at least.

I am working with another company for the lnj cam for a regrind but haven't heard back yet, but it's essentially the same thing

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?

man-00.jpg Slicing the top off the current manifold and adding the ITB's might look like this installed. Only more pretty. A guy named Marc a long time ago built a custom set but for an lx9/ 3400 lower intake manifold He did lz9 swaps in mgbs and what not. Had health issues, disappeared. Instead of...
