Re: project silver - 1987 fiero coupe street car

Welcome.

Great goals. Do the 5.25 component setup in the front, really transforms the audio.

Re: High Feature V6 Swap

Draven, meant to log in the other day and compliment your swap, but something took my attention and I forgot. So I'm back to say, great looking swap, really classy paint scheme and high quality Borla setup.

I'll watch for a video soon of her spooling up.

Re: New engine swap just dropped

If they were to go ahead with the cast version of that engine, maybe. 14:1 compression in a street car, meh possibly not a good idea. Interesting though. Thanks for sharing.

Scorn and contempt, not sarcasm.

Put the fucking thing on your car and drive it until you have a failure, then complain.

You should have all of your parts cnc machined from this point forward. I would only park the finest quality parts in your mom's garage.

Re: LS4 build

What I'm after is reduced weight, and altered geometry to correct for a lowered car, like raising the inner pivots. If I recall, the Factory 88 Cradle weighs near 60lbs bare. Ah ok. Yeah the stock cradle is heafty, but I always thought this a plus given what it does. I've bottomed my cradle out a l...

Re: WK Grand Cherokee Diesel

Jeep dash ptsd... As a rule of thumb, all shrader valves leak, even if you can't see it. You need to install a new pair of caps with a high quality oring in the cap. Maybe change the valves from a completionist standpoint, but definitely install caps. My wife drove an xj for the first few years we w...

Re: LS4 build

I feel like there's so many diminishing returns to building that. Why not just grab an 88 cradle and call it a day? (playing devil's advocate)

Re: 1990 Fiero Build Up

The sail panels float up with the decklid, you can see how the engine is designed to be serviced in the video, everything is hinged. That car is noticeably longer so you couldn't reach the engine from behind. You'd only be able to get to the engine from the sides. I imagine they'd do their best to m...

Re: My 3.4 DOHC powered red and black camo '88 Fiero Track Car

I figured as much. The achilles heel of the Fiero is that the axle sheers where it meets that bearing. I have zero interest in tracking my car, but it would be nice to upgrade to a larger diameter axle while having an overbuilt and readily available sealed bearing design. Switching to the dustbuster...

Imagine working on an lq1 in that... 🥴

That generation of Fiero would be a legendary headache if it existed, until people started swapping the 3800.

Shaun, why don't you install AC in the car?

Re: My 3.4 DOHC powered red and black camo '88 Fiero Track Car

Any possibility of using the Camaro hub and larger axle while retaining the stock Fiero bolt pattern? My hubs have miraculously held up well over the years, but when they do go out I want to keep my Enkei's.

If not I'll do the J body bearing swap if they're still available.

Re: '88 wheel bearing and hub upgrades

Looks good. I can't imagine you'd need any more braking capacity than that. And for aesthetics, having that multi piston brembo caliper outweighs having any larger of a rotor. Dress it up a little, get the corvette lettering off the calipers, and put a Fiero emblem on the center caps.
