Yeah, Ford IRS 8.8's were the hot ticket for FD3s when everyone was LS swapping them to piss off the purists.

Re: Daily RX8 with LFX?, lol

Sounds fun... Like a V6 Camaro but 800 lbs lighter.

Does it keep the Mazda transmission or switch to the AY6? Does Mazda already use the AY6 transmission?

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

I'm super curious about how your firewall panel will look, and how it will perform. I have an idea in my head to reinforce that area as well, but it's much different than a panel, I also haven't even started working on the design though. If you've taken the pedal box out, you know what a sucky job ...

22ga PPL wire arrived, so at least I can get that done next time I'm at the car.

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

I was thinking about this earlier (I have more important things to do, but I was ignoring them...) I thought the F40 didn't have a VSS? or was that just certain F40's? The G6 F40's have VSS that read the ring gear teeth. There's no separate reluctor. F40's from (most?) other platforms do not have V...

Awesomesauce!

And your suspension is stiff enough to keep the fenders off the tires, apparently! :-D

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Tapped the expertise of a Facebook group dedicated to identifying automotive connectors to come up with the PN I actually needed for the backup light switch connector (and by extension the AC comp clutch connector) since there is an error in the DCS Global catalog. You could read the catalog and thi...

Very decent article on running a returnless PWM pump with current fuel pump module functionality and how to reverse engineer when no room to fit a modern fuel module into the fuel tank... i.e. the fiero tank. https://www.vaporworx.com/resources/pwg/return-type-pwm-returnless/ ZL1 Fuel pump module d...

Re: WK Grand Cherokee Diesel

While removing the heater hose nipple that Benz installed VERY tightly, I accidentally dinged the intake to cylinder head mating surface. While I had the manifold at the shop to have the empty heater connection welded shut, I asked them to stone down the 3 dings that I'd put in the surface. Someone ...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Second, might want to build the VSS, and back up light harness with a connector so it can be be divorced from the main harness, and adapted to other transmissions. I'm not at all above re-terminating or splicing onto those wires when I switch to the F40. Good point, though. I should be considering ...

Put me down for a set for my 88... I'll pm you with my email address Thanks! I added you to the list on Pfiffle. Maybe I should cross-post that here. To answer your implied question, the '88 Fiero kits include shaft seals to keep dirt out of the bearings. The '84-'87 cars can't use those seals beca...

Manifold modification is done. I'm thinking I'll be ok posting pics once I get the manifolds installed. If I'd started posting pics right away, then I'd look like a dumbass who dragged this out since October

Re: Group buy: Front Lower Spherical Bearing Shells

For some reason, I had it in my head that the OE bushings installed from the front. This doesn't make sense, because braking force would tend to unseat the bushings from the control arms. Actually measuring the control arms (again!) makes it clear that the OE bushings are installed from the rear. T...

Re: Adjustable Upper Control Arm for '88 Front Suspension

I did... some slight tune up to the parts. I just had the car realigned. The tech got to -1.0 camber and 5.9 caster both sides with no weight in the driver's seat. I held the wheel against the steering lock while he set the toe, so that the wheel was level/straight while the tech set toe. With my 25...

I'm setting up for the next batch, which means revising the drawing. Time to incorporate this great feedback. For some reason, I had it in my head that the OE bushings installed from the front. Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Can you elaborate a bit more on the firewall reinforcement plate? Is this more of an adapter for your custom parts, or does it also have a reinforcing (strength? stiffness?) function? I feel like a part of the Fiero's poor (soft) brake feel comes from the firewall flexing as the driver pushes on th...
