Re: 88 L36 swap

Hey jelly, nice to see your swap comming along. I haven't checked in this jungle in a while.

I like the little cat convertor you using. Never seen one small like that.

Fabbing up and exhaust isn't easy to do on a fiero with so many curves and bends. I see your getting creative. :good:

Re: Blown Brake Master Cylinder?

Guys, the squirt from the master cylinder is normal with the top off. That goes for all fieros. BTW, on one of my 88GTs I bled the whole system 3 weeks ago. Make sure the banjo bolts is torqued to spec (33ft/lbs) from the 88 service manual. I didn't notice that banjo could back out. I'll check the t...

Re: WTB 88 V6 engine mount bracket

For the mount, you can get a lower priced one from The Fiero Store for 40$. The mount that has the same as the 88V6 fiero is an 90s (can't remember what year) Transport mini-van with a 3.8 engine. That mount is conciderly alot less expensive than what the 88V6 mount goes for from GM or The Fiero Sto...

Re: WTB: V6 Cruise / Evap vacuum pipe.

Jelly2m8, that 87GT I had that is now at the dump...you should take a look at it if its still there. Maybe those vaccuum tubes are still good. Just an option bud... :good: Those were rusty, hence why they didn't make it on your car. Plus that chassis has been crushed, I went to see if that 85 GT I ...

Re: 88 Front Hub Assembly. The results are in. An Autopsy.

Interesting topic for 88 owners. I see that Rodney nolonger has the front 88 bearings listed on his site. I have heard that he may be working on (like the GM bearing hubs) or better front wheel bearings. Guys, for those that say the e-bearing units fail can be a possibility...but think, the fiero is...

Re: V6 exhaust?

Will, I didn't say "chain hoist", I said hoist. Maybe I should of said "car hoist". Look on google images, and you'll see nothing but hoist's used for cars.

Anyways, I got my answer...thanks for the info... :)

Re: V6 exhaust?

I should of said "car hoist" then?? What you have in you picture is known as a chain block. Come on, you guys are just dicking around on simple words for a lift. You know that a hoist is a lift in our hobby of cars. Whatever I call it, lets get to the point...about the exhaust please. I do...

Re: V6 exhaust?

A hoist? Step 1 needs to be installing jackstands. Yes, a hoist...anotherwords a lift. Some of us prefer that. I'm not an ass that likes to wreck your back and have 1 1/2 feet of clearance to work with. That's more realistic, ehh? Sounds like you like to work like a idoit. Those are the ones that s...

V6 exhaust?

Many of you have already installed an cat. back on your fiero V6. I'd like to know the correct way by steps in order, and doing it so nothing is "stressed" on the exhaust. I'm aware that and exhaust system can't be stressed. The way I would do it is connect the front part after the cat. co...

Re: Need suggestions on new tranny

Well, that's good to know...as a reference point.

Probably the best thing is to rebuild it yourself, or find a getrag with low milage. That's something that is hard to find these days that isn't abused.:(

Re: Fuckin alternater!

I don't know if anybody knows this, but on 88s the altenator has a "square" on the casting that makes a perfect lever once a wrench is put in. With that in place, you don't even need to use a crow-bar. I think its a 15mm wrench. Anyways, sometimes its fun to be creative with parts and tool...

Re:

well the tranny didn't blow up, it sounds like it just wore out. Easiest would be to find a replacement getrag. Probably cost $500 or so for a fiero one in fair to good condition. I build a Fiero for a customer back in July, I took the getrag apart to check it's innards, the customer had said he wa...

Re: 88GT loosing clutch fluid

Funny, but I went to my autoparts store today and they told me the Clutch Master Cylinder from Raybestos isn't available anymore...weird.

I had to order one through Dorman. Same warrantee, everthing...

This would be something to confirm with someone else at their parts store / region.
