Re: Let's see your guns!

Pops gave me a CZ-75 clone for my birthday. Took it apart, flared the magwell, did a little bit of internal polishing, and put some VZ grips on it. I like it! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/2wkeNfw339P1xN2QR2gRwSM6VjV0W6MayKZahEpHk9XaSuEqI_UuDg1gWX94SLuhNj3tRTFpGmkwcwgzfoWCkWVI-H3iisOf7dGA4LnO2z3...

Re: 262's R07 parts collection, AKA project "Full Retard"

The timing cover is carbon fiber, bolts to the front plate, and has holes for ventilation. this one has a couple of chips around the mounting holes, I might try to get a new one, but it's not high on the priority list, as it has no effect on function. http://i473.photobucket.com/albums/rr98/ericjon...

Re: Let's see your guns!

At what range can he hit things with that AR based rifle? I was under the impression AR's didn't make good long range rifles because of the influence of the gas tube on the barrel before the bullet left the muzzle. However, I don't see a gas tube on that one... what's going on? I've had recommendat...

Re: Let's see your guns!

Buy a used Accuracy International AE mk III in .308. It will perform equivalently to custom R700 based builds at pricing pretty much the same, without the same compromises made for the action and trigger that custom builds must make. Don't skimp on buying a good optic. The Bushnell Elite series has ...

Re: New Camaro!

I quite like it. GM said two years ago the styling would be an evolution of the fifth-gen. The new design checked every box I was expecting, and the performance will set new standards for the price range. oh but GM managed to drop 200 pounds from it, so the lightest model now weighs about what the h...

Re: Let's see your guns!

Nice guns, makes me want to buy an AR-15 variant with all these nice examples. Again, our gun laws are stupid and is pretty much the reason I don't already have one. Example- This first gun, a cheap AR-15 variant... Restricted. Can only take to a range and back, has to be kept locked up with a trig...

Re: A Pontiac Fiero App

That's pretty interesting Will. I had a somewhat similar idea for a task-based note/reminder/tracking system which I will PM you about. It was actually one of the reasons I wanted to start developing. It seems that when you have 20 projects running concurrently you start to appreciate good tracking ...

Re: A Pontiac Fiero App

Will, start with the Eclipse IDE and Android SDK. The packaged download is pretty foolproof for a software IDE. The Java tutorials from Oracle are very well written and comprehensive. More specific Android coding tutorials are also available. I haven't received any formal training in object based pr...

Re: Chevy Sonic

When I first started looking for a newer fuel effecient car, I was looking at pretty much every manufacturer except for GM. After test driving a Dodge Dart, Hyundai Veloster Turbo - Accent - Elantra, Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus, and Honda Fit, I tried a Sonic on a whim and really liked it. The back seat...

Chevy Sonic

Driving over a hundred miles a day now, so I got this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/FastIndy/Sonic/c31bb6f9-82c9-4183-9cc4-e14be6489fd6.jpg~original Not terribly fast (or at all fast, really) but it's pretty fun to drive and the fuel economy is pretty good. Turbo 1.4L + 6MT. Bought in May a...

Re: 9/11 - Explosive Evidence

Cliff's Notes? Small collection of architects and physicists make broad assumptions regarding failure modes of a complex structure, often ignoring evidence opposing their position present in their own video footage. The experts say that the 5-second "free-fall" collapse of WTC 7 was the smoking gun...

Re: My mom's dying of cancer

At this point, what I'm trying to do is embrace and cherish the time we have left, no matter how much it hurts. I picked up a video camera and I'll be videoing her reminiscing... maybe even with some friends. One of her college friends (who married my dad's brother after meeting him at my parents' ...

Re: My mom's dying of cancer

I'm sorry to hear that, my grandfather also died from colon cancer. Last summer we discovered that my wife's grandfather had pancreatic cancer. From the time it was diagnosed, he was alive another 4 weeks.

Good luck to her and your family.

Greddy Profec B Spec II

I've got a NIB Greddy Profec B Spec II that I doubt I will ever have a purpose for, since any ECM I'll be buying will likely have a boost control function. Will cut this forum a very small break over the $150 I have this priced under retail. $270 takes it, shipped. Hell, buy it and stick it back on ...
