Re: Exhaust Gas Recirculation / Inert Gas Injection
It can't be that temperature is the only thing affecting the combustion, when finned aluminum blocks are so cheap. Why can't we have throttle-less gasoline engines that adjust EGR % to adjust torque? Eliminate pumping losses altogether? Combustion must just not be stable at low O2... how can we fix ...

Exhaust Gas Recirculation / Inert Gas Injection
In the interest of saving fuel.... From what I understand, an EGR system on an engine can't go above some certain % exhaust because of heat, impurities and reactive chemicals in the exhaust... (You get detonation) Well if you want to turn your 3.0L V6 into a 2.5L I4, why not try injecting CO2 into t...

Re: Turbonique Rocket Fuel Turbo
For some reason I'm really drawn to the whole rocket powered car idea. Seems to me that you could make a kerosene and N2O rocket with a few thousand pounds of thrust for pretty cheap. Safe too. Problem with nitrous (IMHO) is that it stresses the engine. With a rocket, it's a separate entity. Could p...

Re: Airbox help?
Well, I'm not using a cardboard box, but I'm not spending $300 a side for TWM's custom airboxes either. The aluminum valve covers should do the trick and look good.
FWIW, here's what I bought:

Re: Airbox help?
I would like to get a mustang style scoop for the decklid, but for now I think I want some kind of dual plenum. I bought some aluminum valve covers that I'll mount on aluminum plates for a dual plenum setup...

Re: Airbox help?
Yeah, hot air intake might be good enough for V8Archie, but not for me... I don't care if the ITB's are hidden, I'd rather go than show.

Re: Airbox help?
Okay, when I meant <$50, what I was hoping was someone knew a motorcycle airbox that would fit and work... These are spaced out 22mm, so 102mm, which means the stock hayabusa airbox can't be used... I'm considering vacuum forming ABS plastic, but I'd prefer something ready made...... Maybe even a ta...

Airbox help?
I need a cheap (<$50) solution to my airbox dilemma.... Basically I want something to cover each bank and lead to maybe 2" tube to dual air filters..... Something "ferrari/lamboesque"... http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/1935/itb.jpg I like TWM's airbox, but they need to be cheaper (...

Automotive primers
Can I use a rattle can automotive primer? Or is this generally considered a no-no? I have some fiberglass quarter panels that I want to turn black so they don't stick out like a sore thumb. Eventually I'll take them in to get painted, but right now they're neon white gel-coat (I think?)... I don't w...

Anyone ever been? Any do's/dont's I should concern myself about?
I found out that airfare from orlando to whatever airport is there (san jose?) is only $230 roundtrip. Even cheaper than Cancun! Or hell - the chicago trip I'm going on next week!

So like $400 + airfare?eHoward wrote:I recommend Cancun. I was there last month and it was empty and cheap. A week there in a Westin was like $250 & 2,900 pesos. That included all hotel costs and food/drink on the resort.

Re: Please help my girlfriend and I win a vacation
Yeah, I went there last month. Visit the fort, the "jail" of the fort is creeeepy and off-limits for some reason... Also a nice little outdoor marketplace to walk through. Never saw the lighthouse, but that's supposed to be cool too. Plus the beach.... of course.
