Re: Saab '03-'04 6 speed ratios & RPO

If you can find a decent copy of the Opel EPC software you might be able to find the PN's you need, then you need to find if anyone in Europe has stock. This is really a European transmission developed for the world market. GM US appears to treat it like a black box, the GM online parts catalog does...

Re: '96 DOHC with '91-'93 wiring harness

MAP on the 96 engine is on the Throttle body ARM that connects the throttle body to the Upper intake Plenum/Runners. It is physically different than the one used on the OBD1 ('91-'93) engines. I do not know if they are compatible electronically, and they do not physically interchange, so you may hav...

I have a very early development of this system. It runs Lua scripts and is extremely open to customization, and is also pretty low cost for what it can do.

I thought it was worthwhile to add, Ben's pricing at WOT-Tech was the best i could find for those springs also.

New valve springs and retainers are on the way. I just didn't want to risk bouncing a valve off a piston.

Because these should be able to be dissassembled, the flange could easily be drilled for both.

Re: LS4 build

Well the flat top pistons and rods were sold to a coworker, just need the cash at the moment. Ill be going the route of forged 6.125 rods and forged pistons in the future. Right now im going concentrate on getting the motor rebuilt on my '84 SD4 car.

Re: drop spindles?

A lot more wheels options are available in 5x4.5" than 5x4.75" or 5x100mm. Mustang and lots of other Fords, RX7 and other Mazdas, lots of Nissans, Toyotas, RWD Chryslers use 5x4.5. Old Generation Camaros, Firebirds, Classic GM, and the Corvettes use 5x4.75. Low end Econo-Cars use the Fiero 5x100 pat...

Re: drop spindles?

And for the rear, (or front with stub axle).... I bought these a long time ago, I need to dig them out and measure, but they are cartridge bearings, with tapered rollers and removable races. There is even a rebuild kit out there somewhere. http://a.co/7VDWIEk 53000228.jpg https://www.crownautomotive...

Re: 5.3 Powered Datsun build thread

Having that will let us test fit to see if the LS4 belt drive could drop in behind the steering rack if we move the engine back another inch.
I have a waterpump, crank pulley, and alternator bracket if you need them, I wont be using them,.

Re: LS4 build

I haven't researched. What valvesprings are they using? PAC beehives, which are around 140lb seat, and 300 nose, PSI offers similar springs with a bit more seat pressure (170?) Even the factory semi-dry sump in the C6 ZO6 and others has problems in a left hand corner at greater than 1.0 g's for mor...

Re: LS4 build

Roller cam bearings are for 9500 RPM engines, not 7500 RPM engines. If you're not running the valve spring loads for extreme lift at extreme RPM, you don't need roller cam bearings. I really only considered it becuase Katech found it necessary on their road race motors. And those motors are used in...

Re: LS4 build

Being as I am using an LS3 specific crankshaft, and my power/speed goals would dictate it, I need to have my bottom end balanced for the small bore pistons regardless. Forged pistons are good insurance if I am to run at high speeed for long durations. At least when compared to the typical 1/4 mile r...
