to be anything other than playing around - there needs to be a start & a finish point. reproducable. I was racing a cam/exhaust LS1 SS once... we were having a night of it; he'd miss a gear, I'd miss a gear the next round, he blew the launch, etc. We finally decided that we'd go from a dead sto...

yup - make the car WANT to turn. a great handling car feels like CRAP to drive on the street. the brakes are bricks, the steering stiff, the tires feel flat.....

Lots of guys run E85 in their turbo cars at the strip on entirely stock fuel systems. Sinister is/was doing an E85 corrosion test on a stock fuel pump. ALLTRBO has run E85 in his Talon quite a bit with no problems. It ran 11.98 like that... good point. many folk dont really need their setup to last...

yes, roller/needle bearings would have been a better approach - but - again - if you are squeezing out every last dime of handling - would you not go with a '88 cradle.....

why is the auto tranny a bad thing? it'd need a shift kit for sure but, brake-boosting and staying in boost between shifts sounds like quite an advantage. not to mention, its almost always easier to launch an auto look at the stock from the factory 1/4 mile times - almost a FULL SECOND between the ...

good stuff.
yes - overkill
I'd think this would be a better idea for the fronts.

and - fianlly - most people trying to get the last ounce of perf out of the rear end - put in '88 cradles....

Poly moves more than you think. and how much does it move compared to how much you think that I think it moves? have you tested its movement on the craddle? because if not then you can't make that statement. I have not tested its movement on the cradle. I used it on 88 lateral links and it compress...

how's your temp gage reading? if it is at or below 1/4 - you are running to cold, and the ECM is not going into "closed loop mode" - which usually gets ya around 17MPG

:thumbleft: yup. likely spots are the EGR tube & the brake booster - but, there are a few others too.

yup - pretty much it.
unbolt the cat from the downpipe/y-pipe, and depending on how the cat is attached - remove it - and replace with the new piece. it will rust tho - so, good idea to do what you can to protect it.

you are talking expensive parts replacement when you cant even get decent tires on your car? tires are #1 item when discussing handling. and - yes - Fiero rear ends are no fun on uneven surfaces - but changing the front end wont change that one bit. if not done already - you need: cradle bushings - ...

back when I first installed my 3.1 I think 16.1 was my best. not very impressive. the old TH125 has been replaced with a 4-speed & 4.10 gearset - that was by far the single biggest improvement. i've done much with motor since then also. my next run - when I split open the case of the first 4-spe...

dont worry about the bumpsteer most people blame every rear suspension issue on bumpsteer. just not the case. as others mentioned - your problem is likely the rear toe. and factory specs are fine. being its a Fiero - it never will feel like any other car - so - cant use that as a guide. the rear wil...
