Re: 3900 turbo with cam from Youtube
His dyno was invalid so its hard to say if the cam was good or bad, especially with no comparison. The Dark Side of Will wrote: ↑Mon May 27, 2024 8:31 pm This bullshit again?
Keep it to technical reasons why a product is good or bad.

Re: 3900 turbo with cam from Youtube
Ive got dynosim6 and have been playing around with different cams. Found a few lobe profiles I wanted to try out, and was working with WOT-tech to chose a cam. He was slightly biased towards using one of the cams he developed despite my simulations being drastically different. He wants to push his ...

Re: 3900 turbo with cam from Youtube
I have dynod with this cam but it was with a turbo so my low end tq numbers aren't gonna be what they would be n/a plus the Dyno was picking up interference so the tq readings weren't accurate, so my graph displayed mph. So since the Dyno was in mph I have no idea what my tq.numbers were. Torque re...

Re: 3900 turbo with cam from Youtube
You can't increase lift without removing material from the base of the lobe. Otherwise you wouldn't fit the cam past the bearings from welding up material on the lobe.

Re: organization techniques
Dry erase boards and spreadsheets. Also a cork board. For entire car build projects, giant sheets of paper taped to the wall were used to make a list of everything. That's better for a team of people to stay organized.

Re: time/effort saving tools
Not bad:) I was hoping it would get the coolant out of the passages as well but maybe more time would do it. Some cleaners def work better on carbon than others. Maybe Eric needs a "coolant cleaning tank" and a "carbon cleaning tank" instead of "dirty" and "clean&...

Re: Lz9 rotating assembly weights
Makes sense to measure from the center of the bores, but really difficult to do. I thought balancing a connecting rod on a razor blade was difficult.

Re: Lz9 rotating assembly weights
Id love to see you balance a connecting rod on a razor blade. 20230706_233145.jpg Got it as close as I could, came up with 128.5mm SE 75.5mm BE. 204mm OAL. That makes it a 37/63 weight split, but the weight based on measurements is not even in the ballpark compared to the math. Unless you have a bet...

Re: Lz9 rotating assembly weights
You can balance the stock rod on a razor blade to find the location of the centre of gravity. Knowing the total weight (which you have), and the CG location, you can work out the big and small end weights. Is that something people do? Is there a math formula for it? This is my math alternative;) 20...
