https://i.imgur.com/PXzU0XI.jpg apparently plates like that are a thing on third gen F bodies, and a bunch of guys are happy with the results. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/organized-drag-racing-autocross/788050-master-cylinder-brace.html this is definitely worth keeping more in mind than I thoug...

Re: dura-pig? durpig?

I've more or less decided to scrap the chassis swap project, however, I do intend to strip the chassis of all parts that make sense to take, this is including, but not limited to the rear axle and the brakes. I may try and adapt the GMT 800 hydroboost since I have it, and will need some form of brak...

Re: Who wants to design a LZ itb intake and 3d print it?

That transverse Rotary setup is interesting. Obviously printing with metal would be more durable but you dont even need to (especially on the intake side), people have been printing with plastic (carbon fiber infused nylon) with excellent results. this is my next step. I was figuring I will fab a l...

I don't think I did half bad considering this was my first time ever attempting brick work... https://i.imgur.com/2zqmkDG.jpg https://i.imgur.com/hIl3PJ4.jpg there's a window in the hole now, but I still need to finish installing it, along with bricking up the other opening, and making the last wind...

Is that top for the gas tank the same diameter as fiero? to my infinite surprise, it fits exactly as required.... maybe I'll make a couple more? probably not though, they're kinda a PITA to make. https://i.imgur.com/Atg1QkX.jpg +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ in other more significant news for ...

progress looks great, I would like to spend some time on a couple of non house projects this week, maybe I'll make a little progress on engines.

Re: dura-pig? durpig?

not a ton of progress, but I made a fuel sending unit top, there will be fittings for supply, return, a tank vent, and electrical connections. supply and vent will be -10, return will be -8. I'll nickel plate the assembly once it's a bit further along. https://i.imgur.com/6XsFSyn.jpg https://i.imgur...

I've been running a small battery on the car for years, I understand it's limitations, it's not a problem.

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap

Thanks for the follow up, I'll have to make some revisions. I think slots might be the smart answer, to allow for some adjustability for transmission placement. I'm been extremely busy working on my house, and haven't had much time to do many of the things I would like to do, like work on these and ...

I've never had a problem, but I also haven't been in a situation where I needed to crank for a long time, and I acknowledged it would be a potential limitation.

Re: progress on the banshee...

the dyna batt died, admittedly, I let it freeze and go without any load cycles for several months, and they are sensitive to deep discharge. years ago, I found this link which suggested the dynabatt was just a rebranded battery from another manufacturer https://stealth316.com/2-dynabatt.htm I didn't...

Re: My 3.4 DOHC powered red and black camo '88 Fiero Track Car

some quick googling looks like the Voron is a custom build it yourself printer? looks very well built from what I can see. I need to get my printer out and dusted off, but I could also use to make some significant upgrades to it as well, unfortunately, that will have to wait until I get this dump of...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

So, i have pulled the pedal box before, my car was born an automatic, I wonder how much stiffness can be added by a flat plate, to me, it doesn't look like the issue is as localized as that portion of the firewall, but the whole firewall. Maybe I'm wrong though.

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

I'm super curious about how your firewall panel will look, and how it will perform. I have an idea in my head to reinforce that area as well, but it's much different than a panel, I also haven't even started working on the design though.

so, a few updates. I got the master bedroom wiring mostly finished, later this week, I'm going to try and get most of the other circuits landed in the breaker panel and run to their respective areas, I also removed the window that was on the wall, in what it now going to be the master bathroom. http...

For a while, I had considered the earlier sunfire headlights for a pop-up delete, if I were feeling like completely re-sculpting my entire front end. that looks like a clean example!

Re: My 3.4 DOHC powered red and black camo '88 Fiero Track Car

are the clips you're using to hold the speed sensor cable to the brake line 3d printed? how are your prints holding up in environments like that? care to give us a run down on your printer and process? I 3d printed some hubcap adapters for my car at one point, but they warped in the heat here in SC....

Re: progress on the banshee...

The Crower's are solid lifters, they may work, but I would prefer to run a hydraulic lifter if I can. Crower does list lifter parts on their website, which may help me get a set of link bars and replacement pins/washers for them, if they fit. I suspect they will fit, because several cam companies se...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Second, might want to build the VSS, and back up light harness with a connector so it can be be divorced from the main harness, and adapted to other transmissions. I'm not at all above re-terminating or splicing onto those wires when I switch to the F40. Good point, though. I should be considering ...
