Re: Dare to be not-different
I just think GM pulled yet another dumb move by putting a high-RPM / HP producing design engine (that lacked low end torque) into a truck. Never drove a 6.0 truck have you? Our GMC has no trouble driving anywhere unloaded or with a 16' trailer hauling 8,000lbs of car(s). Torque, they have plenty of...

After two years you still havent chosen a path of action?
Grow a pair and build your own damn car. If you want a stick, put it in there. If sis cant drive, dont let her. Simple

Re: starting my 5.3 with pics
More along the lines of actually finishing a project. You've got a ton of stuff going on and nothing more than big plans for any of it 5.3/6.0 Fiero .060" over 305 mustang 4.3/350 TA Truck(s) Yard ornaments get old quick. Do your racing on the track, its just not safe anywhere else. If this is ...

Re: Northstar exhaust manifold improvement
Why not just cut it off, trim the insides then weld the tube back on. Not like welding stainless is some exotic process

Re: 9 Sec "Fiero" on ebay
Most people dont like the aesthetics of a Fiero
For a serious drag car like that one, original stats are nearly meaningless. Weight, power, weight dist, body etc all are re-invented. Its a tube chassis with a few Fiero looking panels hung on it

Re: anyone do an LQ1/SC yet?
Ive done a few remote blower setups, so give me an ear First off, you're nuts to even begin by chatting it up on a forum vs actually seeing where the blower will fit. If you have the fab skills to pull this off you have mind to figure out where it will fit feasibly Second, you NEED an intercooler. T...

Re: brake line nut
Mesh the threads of the new/old nuts together. Next take a caliper and make sure the ID is the same. You're checking the difference from std fittings vs metric. Metric tubing is slightly smaller OD than std so you should know pretty quick The fitting just pushes the flare into the seat, its end shap...

Re: Ford's most advanced assy plant operates in rural Brazil
Looks identical to the honda plant I worked at. Stupid parts trains hauling ass, painted walkways, matching uniforms, sub-assy in-house etc all the same. Even copied the overhead trolleys delivering parts to the specific installation point, dashes, seats, wheels, engines, rear susp assemblies Honda ...

Re: porting a block
I don't think he's *wasted* either of those blocks. It looks to me that he's simply enlarged a passage that was already there. The passage exists in the rear cover, it is flat on the block. He's not adding anything new thats not already there, just opening up the one passage way As long as the bloc...

Re: porting a block
Cant weld up the cover to bulge out any. The flex/flywheel is very tight in that area just from the LSx architecture. Easiest solution is to run the engine like GM designed it and not flog it until its warmed up a little like you should do for any engine

Re: porting a block
Here is the thread from 'tech. Interpret it as you will. I have a pet peeve against bad tech, esp when it's trumpeted as the gospel by someone just stroking their ego. The mod is almost useless as early blocks are not prone to valvetrain failures because most owners have sense enough to let an engin...

Re: porting a block
Congrats on skipping the steel/wood guide for a rubber exhaust hangar and wasting another block for a mod that does practically nothing. Where are you getting these figures for shaving the exterior of blocks? Who does that?
