I have always used either Delrin or spherical bearings when I upgrade bushings. Never had a reason to change.
Delrin is a hard, wear resistent plastic that isn't sticky like poly.

Bushing Dimensions?
Does anyone have the dimension of our front control arm bushings on hand by chance for an 88? I plan on making my own Delrin bushings but it would be nice to have the measurements without pulling the old ones out or buying some urethane ones and using them as prototypes. Thanks

My plan is to autocross for fun in the car, but do some competition everyone and a while. Plus, if I am gonna spend money on something, I might as well do it right the first time. Anyway, the SSR's are probably what I will go with since they are 12 lbs each. I have helped build two heavy duty road r...

I plan on either SSR Comp or Motegi Trak Lites 16x7.5 in front and 16x9 in back with 215/45/16 in front and 245/45/16 in back for tires. But that may change depending on how creative I get. I may just use some road racing spindles with a differnet bolt pattern so I can get some real light BBS wheels...

Thanks for all the replies. I have a 88 Iron Duke. As for the reason for the Ecotec. I can get a 04 2.2L with the 5 speed transaxle for $900. The motor will almost drop right in with the exsisting mounts, cept for one of the motor mounts needs modification. So its not to difficult to do, just hasn't...

Which to do first?
Well after measuring and racking my brain on trying to fit a Subaru engine in my Fiero, I've decided to just buy a 04 2.2L Ecotec and be done with it. But before I do that, I should ask you all, which would you do first? Engine Swap- Get my power lust under control, but that leaves me with stock cha...

The book by Corky Bell is a great one. Also, a great web resource if you haven't already found it is www.grapeaperacing.com I am an old school muscle car fan, but turbos rock and twin turbo v8's are even better. Grape's web site is greating for compressor formulas. Also, for an online turbo calc, tr...

Sizing twin turbo's is actually pretty easy, just keep in mind what the engine and turbos are both really doing. Your engine will be consuming a certain amount of air. If its breathing through two turbo chargers, then each turbo should flow roughly half the amount of the total air consumed by the en...

The Co2 thing is interesting, but I think as far as FI engines go, I would rather spray a 50/50 mix of meth/h2o. Not only does the vaporization of the mix cool the intake down, the alky is aobut 110-120 octane rating depending on what kind you use. Also, the steam created by the water will help remo...

Well, sure there are all types of engine swaps already done but I just like doing things different. Plus the inherent balance of boxer engines plus the sound of them is just amazing! Ya an STi engine would be so fun, but I guess until I get some width measurements from a boxer engine I will be in th...

Flat Engines?
Hey guys, new here, looking for info on installing a boxed-type engine in a fiero. Anyone tried this? I was thinking either a Subaru flat 4 or a Boxster engine. I know width is gonna be the limiting factor, just curious if anyone has tried this.
Great forum, thanks.
