Re: WK Grand Cherokee Diesel
I'm looking at repairing the oil cooler leaks in the last weekends of October and into November. The oil cooler is literally the first thing installed in the OM642 valley when the engine is built, so R&R'ing it requires removing EVERYTHING in the valley: fuel rails, fuel filter, intake manifolds...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
After looking at potential locations for a manifold harness production break, and all the inconveniences and/or clutter associated with the available locations, I decided to ditch the manifold production break and just lay the injector wiring in as part of the main harness. I was able to get most of...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
I tried reworking the original Caddy intake manifold harness last weekend. While the "modern" 2006 LS system powers each bank of injectors from a single fuse. The Caddy powers every other injector in the firing order from a single fuse. That means that each bank has two injectors powered b...

Re: sluppy123 aluminium front hubs
He'd agreed in principle to produce a pair of my updated/improved design for multi-pattern hubs to go along with Street Dreams lowering spindles. I haven't sent a model or drawings yet because I'm focusing on getting The Mule running. Thanks for bringing this up so I can get started on that in an in...

Re: WK Grand Cherokee Diesel
Jeep dash ptsd... As a rule of thumb, all shrader valves leak, even if you can't see it. You need to install a new pair of caps with a high quality oring in the cap. Maybe change the valves from a completionist standpoint, but definitely install caps. My wife drove an xj for the first few years we ...

As much as I enjoyed that Jeep, I was happy to see it go.

Re: LS4 build
That's shown on the dry sump pan. Will it work on a wet sump pan? The Wet sump pan has vertical walls, the dry sump pan is tapered. The mounting ears for the LS7/LS9 oil cooler will interfere with the pan. Now you have an excuse to go dry sump! :-D The LSA oil cooler fits wet sump pans and has moun...

Re: F40 Differential Spline Data - CV Spud options
https://realfierotech.com/download/file.php?id=1597 I have a set of the Ecotec racing inner flanges. I can install to my 282 along with the F150 33 spline outer flange and take flange to flange measurements throughout suspension travel. This will give the plunge requirements. That will take a few m...

Re: F40 Differential Spline Data - CV Spud options
F35 Application such as a HHR/Cobalt Axles have the same spline engagement for this app in a Fiero. These cars run jackshafts. Supercharged cars have matching outboard splines to the Fiero, Probably a GM Econo Box Carry over (J-Body ETC) The G6 F40, This also runs a jack shaft but a female splined ...

Ordered the ECM connectors today. They're still available under the numbers shown in the service information, which is fortunate. They're Molex MX123 connectors, but specific variants sold exclusively to GM, so Molex won't send me any. The ECM uses a single 14ga ground wire, which crimps into a sin...

Re: Storm Trooper Maintenance Thread
I guess you mean install the shocks fully extended. With a little muscle, they can be R&R'd with the vehicle on the ground just by turning the wheels full lock. I was speaking in the context of installing the shock on the production line. That's what I inferred. Then using production tooling to...

I have also used sendcutsend. I like them. I had an issue (on my 84-87 Fiero) with Rodney Dickman zero-lash links whereby the ball-and-socket joints didn't have enough range of motion to work on my Fiero: RD endlink.jpg I'm not sure what went wrong, but it's something to watch out for. I'm not saying I plan to sell a bunch of cradles to people, but the possibility is out there. but, if a viable design can be produced for an 88 type suspension replacement for non 88 owners, that has a slight bit better geometry than the beloved 1988, and can use stronger wheel bearings, it may be ...
