Leaking exhaust manifold can make it run rich (maybe not as rich as you describe, though). Air actually gets pulled in through the leak between exhaust pulses, making the O2 sensor think the engine's running lean. The ECM richens the mixture to compensate. Its two different colors, grey vynil and black. $11 for both sheets at JoAnn fabrics in the sale aisle. I am going to go there from time to time to check up on deals. I wanted grey or black suede but they only had brown suede on sale. Black was $21.99 a yard.

No unfortunately I don't have an ALDL cable. I have a friend who has it and he is giving me a quote to replace the leaky manifold so if he replaces the manifold I'll give her a scan.

Also he had some part of his clutch system replaced slave cylinder? one of those and the car is driveable but it still needs bled? He said its hard to push, would a not totally functional clutch be boning him?

I have been thinking about a newer 3500 or some other new 60* V6, but the goal is to get another fiero. A friend is selling me a 88 parts car or finding me another 88 coupe that I can strip all the wieght out of and put in a 3800SCII and 4T60-HD. That will be my go fast money pit car. If I have time...
