Re: W41 achieva part out...

We still have all those parts.

I don't know what this stuff goes for today compared to a couple years ago when I used to be interested in quad 4 stuff. Make me a reasonable offer.

Re: W41 achieva part out...

Located in Charlotte, NC. The car is complete at the moment but not sure how long it will be before stuff starts to be sold. I will get you the mileage tomorrow morning. The was running when it was parked but best to assume its being sold for parts. Open to all offers with respect to price. Just try...

W41 achieva part out...

My buddy is parting out his w41 / getrag achieva.

I know you guys talk about some of these parts from time to time so I was wondering if you might be interested in anything.

US F1 Tour

I went on a tour of the US F1 facility today. The building is about 10 minutes from the university and my Motorsports Instrumentation professor was able to talk them into letting us check the place out. The facility is not yet opened to the public. At 40,000 square feet, it was a rather small place....

Re: Finally Hit 11s...

I'm no longer serious about anything with the manual. I was willing to give it a chance and that's what I did. No one else out there wanted to take the high hp 3800 route with a manual and so I figured I might as well. In my opinion, I proved that you can have a daily driven, streetable, 3800 fiero ...

Re: Finally Hit 11s...

Cin is correct about the clutch. I called spec and talked to them about getting a twin disc for my car. They told me it was a waste of time and money. It took me about two weeks of back and forth with them before the correct clutch got figured out due to the different trans, etc. Once I started putt...

Re: Finally Hit 11s...

The dyno shop called and canceled. They scheduled for a day that the town has a parade. It was their fault and they had to move me to December 12. I wasn't too happy about it, but I was able to go to the track instead, so all wasn't lost. I currently run a Spec 3+ with their High Clamp pressure plat...

Re: Finally Hit 11s...

My clutch is very tempermental. I hate the damn thing. it holds okay around the street everyday until it slips. once the thing slips or gets hot or whatever it does, it's worthless for a couple weeks. After that it will hold decent power until I slip or overpower it then it's junk again.

Re: Finally Hit 11s...

I'm not really sure how certain breakage is going to be. I'm putting in a set of OEM axles which seem to hold up best. I've shock loaded the hell out of the trans and it seems to be okay. My best 60' on this trans so far has only been a 1.902. I used to run better than that with the isuzu. With a mo...

Re: Finally Hit 11s...

Now that I have tires (Mickey Thompson 255/50 16s) I'm going to get a little more aggressive with the car. No matter what I did before, the all-seasons would spin like hell with any sort of power applied. Even with no burnout or anything, these tires just hook the hell up. Replacement transmissions ...

I really wish they put a tire on it with a little more sidewall.

Other than that, congrats! Hope you enjoy it.

Re: Finally Hit 11s...

Today had the potential to be a good day. Unfortunately, I found out I can't launch the car as hard as I wish I could on shitty replacement axles... Re: Finally Hit 11s...

Well I went back to the track tonight. Times sucked. I had a 30mph headwind, and we all know that's good for like .5 off my et. ;) I'm told that time slips talk but mine didn't say anything. I just did a lot of work to the car getting it rewired. It was a big enough feat to have the car ready in tim...

Re: Finally Hit 11s...

Yeah, my car is teh slow compared to these overly basic turbo cars these days. Then again, I still drive around on 17" all season michelins, run pump gas, and trap a lot higher on average than you've even gone. Keep in mind my 4th gear only goes to 120mph and I don't rev the car over 6250. If I...

Re: 3800 Rebuild

Or consider how often you'll change pullies and if its next to never, then get it pressed. If you'll change it, have them press on a hub and you can do it in 5 minutes with a hex tool.

Re: Traction Vs. Boost

I'm late to this discussion but I can say that running all-seasons has done wonderful things when it comes to keeping transmissions together. I'm running a 3.8 and I don't have a dyno sheet yet so I'm not sure where I'm at as far as tq. I do know that with the electronic boost control, I can ramp in...
