Re: So I drove my Fiero for the first time in four years...

Not an expert and still would need to do more research, but I've seen "$600 annually and $5k every 4-5 years" a few different places.

Yeah, I was looking and doing research on Gallardo's again yesterday (way more affordable maintenance wise in comparison to the prancing horses).

It's slow as hell and handles like shit compared to what I normally drive Isn't that the truth, I drive new cars that are better in every aspect but there's something about driving this old slow ass shitbox. I actually drove the Fiero, my SRT8 Jeep and CTS-V pretty...

Re: So I drove my Fiero for the first time in four years...

Not to sound like too much of a dick but that thing looks busted. It has potential obviously hilut its got a long ways to go. Still a 2.8? Oh I know it does. No worries. I need to obviously finish up some body work stuff. After that I think it will look good once painted, lowered and different whee...

Thought I'd throw up a picture that I took when I pulled it out of the garage:

...and it put a smile on my face. It's slow as hell and handles like shit compared to what I normally drive, but I'm still committed to eventually 'finishing' it. Not only that, in my short drive I got one of the "Is that a Ferrari!?" questions. That said, I have kicked around the i...

Re: CTS-V

I've had a smidge of welding done at Mach V Motorsports. http://www.machv.com/ They're a Subaru-oriented Subaru/Evo shop. They have a good reputation and their welder/fabricator is supposed to be pretty good also. I had my car dyno'd at http://www.mooreautomotive.com/ They're an Evo oriented Subaru...

Re: CTS-V

If I wouldn't've been waiting for that 9" kit for like five months, it would already be on the car. :(

Any suggestions in the DC area for a shop to do the install? It's pretty straight forward with a minor cut and reweld required for the cradle.

Re: CTS-V

You're getting pretty serious with that monster. Is there a Ford 8.8 kit? The 9" is very strong, but also inefficient. You'll lose power through it to parasitic loss and need significant diff cooling on track. The inefficiency is why Ford no longer uses it. I've heard of the SKF hubs over on h...

I also currently have a bunch of parts sitting on my bedroom floor waiting to go on. I'm moving to DC in a couple weeks though, so they will have to wait. That said, I have this stuff still to be installed: -GForce Engineering 9" IRS rear kit (driveshaft, axles, pumpkin, housing, mounts, etc) -...

Re: CTS-V

So I remembered I had this thread on here and thought I would post a quick update. Obviously a lot of time has passed since my last post and a lot of mods have gone on. Instead of trying to figure out what mods have gone on since my last post, I'll give a complete mod list that I've been compiling. ...

Re: Cars & Coffee 130413 in Great Falls, VA

These will actually be my first deployments. Being in nuclear operations, there really isn't any need for us to deploy being that we do our mission here. In theory I should have plenty of interaction with the locals. I'm excited for the training and doing the actual mission as well.

I'm doing the AFPAK Hands program. http://www.afghanwarnews.info/afpakhands.htm

So I'll be in language and other training around the area until I deploy in Feb. I think when I come back in '15 I'll be in the Pentagon until my next deployment though.

I'm putting Sparco Evos in my CTS-V along with 4 point roll bar. I haven't driven with them yet but they're also at the 18 lbs weight point.
