It's a pretty mild build. I wanted a reliable, streetable engine. The heads are old Brownsfield aluminum, 2.02-1.06 valves, 78cc combustion chambers, and mildly ported. The intake is an old Edelbrock Torker. The cam is a Crower. I don't remember the specs, but it's not a very big one. The exhaust is...

Unfortuneately, most sanctioning bodies, SCCA, FIA, etc, have a specific ban on "moving aerodynamic devices". It was the Chaparrals that had the adjustable wing. They used a torque converter instead of a clutch, so there was no clutch pedal. The driver would use his left foot to operate a ...

Now it's time to see how much abuse a T5 can take. I added a 100 shot of nitrous. Horsepower is up to 373, and torque is at 500 ft-lbs. I've also aquired a set of drag radials. Wednesday night I'll take it to the track and see how much I can improve on my previous best of 12.95@107.

The W41 Calais was on the SCCA's list of cars NOT eligible for stock class solo competition. It was so good, it got bumped to street prepared.

He could have chosen a better engine. It's probably a take out from someone who realized they could make their Jaguar faster and more reliable with an American V8.

They are for a Fiero. I used them on a dedicated autocross car. They are in excellent condition. They are bare. Probably less than 200 miles of actual driving use.

I don't know where I got the previously posted dyno numbers, but they weren't correct. The correct ones were actually lower. 700R4 whp 256.5@4800 rpm wtq 316.7@3000 rpm T5 whp 267.8@4800 rpm wtq 335.3@3600 rpm The strength of the T5 is a concern. It's a light car and should last if I'm nice to it. S...

I weighed the car today.

2664# with 1/2 tank of gas.
56% front 44% rear

I have also swapped out the 700R4 for a T5. It gained 10 whp and 20 wtq across the entire rpm range from the transmission swap.
