Im thinking of upgrading my current daily driver, the civic with something. I saw a CTS locally for 17k which is very doable. The lowest I have seen Vs for is around 40. Its not that I dont want a V, its that it doesnt make economic sense right now. I really like the styling of the CTS. I could see ...

A/R is just a ratio.

Its to compare housings within a family of turbochargers.

Whats everyone think about the CTS?

I am thinking about buying a 2003 CTS. It has a manual tranny, the 3.2L V6 and a bunch of options.

CTSs look like this:

I thought you popped the motor. My bad.

Only 'cause it's parked in the garage, since it's winter up here in the frozen north :bootyshake:

It's been running all summer, just not in tip-top shape. Still need to get a decent rear fascia, drivers side tail-light, and a paint job.

Welcome to the forum. Ive been a fan of your Q4 88 also. I think Shuan forgot to include that heads and intake on the DOHC are transferable. I also think Shaun forgot that your Q4 isnt running currently so most stock fiero should be quicker then it in its current form. If you put the 3.4DOHC in and ...

When did FSAE get budget restrictions? Perhaps instead of hardware restrictions, what is needed are budgetary restrictions, much like Formula SAE. Build an F1 car for 100 million. Spend the money however you like. Team members could fly coach in order to make room in the budget for that next aspect ...

Dakar

I was going to post this in Anything Goes, but figured motorsports wasnt getting enough love. Am I the only one that has odd fantasies about bringing a lifted fiero out to Africa? For those not familiar, Dakar is a rally that goes down from Europe and across Africa: http://www.dakar.com/2005/us/inde...

You just want cloth or a whole carbon kit with epoxy, brushes and measuring cups?(you know about the quick start kits we re selling right?)

Cloth is $25/yd for quantities over 5 yards. $30/yd under that. It is off a 50 inch wide roll. 2X2 3k Twill is all I have currently.

At 5 to 600 per wheel, you could pretty much get any 1 piece rim you want.

You could do a Kosei, OZ or low end BBS and get those sizes while staying light.

Kind of like this: http://www.howard.saturnet.net/drexel_fsae/fsae_year_in_pictures/fsae-03-03/fsae-03-03-Images/14.jpg I know how to measure VE. I just want to cheat. This is how you do it. Take your engine, or car to the appropriate dyno. Not an inertial dyno, a real dyno, that holds the engine at...

Will, why do you want to come up with a relationship between torque and VE? The MAF method will allow you to calculate VE without going to a dyno. Its just that for engines like the 2.8 or in my case a B16, you will have to get a MAF from another car and come up with some sort of interface for it to...

Playing with carbon fiber

JM was recently asking me for carbon fiber tips. Figure now is as good a time as any for a minor carbon fiber thread. . . Just a small note before I begin. This is not how I would make a part for a race car, but for a beginner looking to play with carbon fiber, its a good start. If I were making a r...

The suggestion from Garrett is to hook up a large unmodified MAF sensor to the engine and calculate the VE using that. . . .

Whos good with hardware?
