Re: Bizarre Partial Manual Transmission Failure, Can I Save It?
Update for those following along. Hit the junkyard Sunday with little success. Couldn't find a single Quad4 with a manual, so I settled for a Cavalier with a 2.0 and a manual. Turns out the Cavalier uses an identical cable, except it's 4 inches shorter than the GA cable. Glad I only spent $4 on it, ...

Re: 2011 Camaro 3.6 is 312 HP
Sad part about the whole deal is that I will never understand WHY the manufacturers offer supposed "muscle cars" with pussy 6 cylinder motors to begin with. They seem to try to cater to the posers out there. If you can't afford the real deal, you shouldn't be driving one. Just like Ford w...

Re: My fiero has me drinking.
I haven't reset base timing yet, but the distributor is in the exact same as it was when it came out. That doesn't mean anything, unfortunately. I got away with it once, the second time the timing was so far out that the engine wouldn't start at all, much less run. I swore up and down that the dist...

Re: My fiero has me drinking.
Sounds like the only part you haven't thrown at it yet is the fuel filter. Might want to check your fuel pressure and make sure it's not clogged (since you already took care of the pump).

Re: Bizarre Partial Manual Transmission Failure, Can I Save It?
We had a really hard time with cables on our Achieva SCX racer. They are really horrible quality cables, they bend much easier than the Fiero ones do. It's also a very common problem, we found, because not only did it happen to us, but only about 25% of the junkyard cars had cables that weren't jun...

Re: Bizarre Partial Manual Transmission Failure, Can I Save It?
I've manually selected 5th and Reverse with the cables connected and disconnected without trouble. With the cables connected, the shifter goes to its normal position for that gear. The shifter's range of motion is not impeded as far as I can tell. The cables are securely anchored under the center co...

Re: Bizarre Partial Manual Transmission Failure, Can I Save It?
Unhook the cables from the transaxle and see if you can select all gears, if you can you probably have a bad cable. All 5 forward gears and Reverse can be selected manually at the transaxle. I'm still not sure how the cable could have gone bad overnight, or how it could've shrank, but it would cert...

Re: Bizarre Partial Manual Transmission Failure, Can I Save It?
Is there a cable adjustment in the shifter? My tranny is from the exact car you have, but I cant help you with this problem. I doubt Fiero shifter cables will work, they come out of the shifter the wrong side, come to the tranny the wrong side, and are 3X longer. I wonder if there is a bushing or s...

Bizarre Partial Manual Transmission Failure, Can I Save It?
Just acquired a VIN A '92 Grand Am with Quad4 HO and 5-speed manual transmission. Not a Fiero, I know, but there are a couple people here with Grand Am and Quad4 experience, so I'm asking anyway. Drove it 400 miles home yesterday and everything was peachy. Parallel parked it and everything last nigh...

Yeah, nothing says "rice" like a custom full cage in a stripped-out race car. How fucking lazy are you? Cryzone obviously isn't a ricer, whether you like his body kit or not. Fuck man, at least TRY to be clever. This shit is just pathetic.pontiackid86 wrote:RICER

Crzyone wasn't challenging you, he was responding to rick trying to troll the thread. Stick to shaun rick I don't care about your car or v8archies so let us ramble about diesels in peace. I've personally always like big inline sixes in trucks. The Ford 300-6 was a good motor, so were the big chevy ...

Re: Euro-spec
I don't think that Euro emissions standards are really any less stringent than US standards. Manufacturers put different products in different markets because of what they perceive that market wants. GM's perception is skewed. They were offering the 2.8 turbo + F40 in the Saab 9-3 in the US market....

Ah yes, the elusive 1994 model. Very hard to find. I think we can safely assume this guy didn't build the car himself.

And talk about passive-aggressive - they voted him off the board because they were so sick of what he did, but then they were going to be pen pals with him? That's some twisted logic right there. Are you repulsed by the guy or not? You kinda have to pick one and stick with it.

I would love to enlighten you, however I doubt it's possible, but I will try. How the hell is giving him a positive rating on another forum "supporting" what he did, it isn't, not any more than being his penpal. Hope that cleared that up for you. Next there is lowlux, I was the one who st...
