I just did a forum software upgrade from 2.0.6 to 2.0.11 because the creators of the forum software released a notice on the 18th about some security issues. Also did a bunch of linux upgrades that should be transparent this weekend. Everything but the Bind update went smooth. You guys should let me...

How to secure your Linux box from the Green Bar Brigade
One of the greens was doing some highly suspicious stuff and rather then analyze packets and log files(this site's logfile was over 200meg this week), I just decided to stop his access to the box. [root@linuxbox root]# iptables -A INPUT -s wsjproxy2.dowjones.com -j DROP [root@linuxbox root]# iptable...

Thanks for sharing Stimpy. A 3800SC is a nice power bump from even a mod'd 60 degree. I had a chance to ride in Hugh's swap and it pulled really hard. Only mod I was aware of was just a pulley change. I've had two fieros. The first was an 86 GT 4 spd http://www.howard.saturnet.net/fiero/naz_02/76.jp...

This guy? http://alansfiero.ls1swap.com/
If my memory is correct, I think the timeline was V8Archie started trying to do a LS1 swap in '99 and didn't get it or a single other one installed until LS1swap published how to do it in '04.Lex wrote:Yeah, he's waiting for someone else to make one first.

I have a feeling that V8Archie has delayed his LS1 kit because he's an asshat. That would be great. Not very many LSX Fieros out there. I suspect V8Archie has deliberately delayed his LSX kits because he hates the fact that they are far superior to the 2nd Gen F-body engines, which he absolutely ado...

So wait, you're saying the adaptor plate you got from V8Archie wasn't 6061? It's pretty easy to take the cradle out. Even I can do it! Disconnect coolant, ac, clutch/trans related lines and cables. Unplug the ECM, battery, anything else i forgot electronic related. Jack the car up. Take rear wheels ...

I did read this and will post a response for you. I think you can set this up as a simple statics problem. I don't trust myself to give you actual equations. I will ask my friend that did modeling of forces for tubmounts on the formula car, what he did for those and also what he'd do for a shock tow...

My local SCCA has a test and tune at least once a year where they have a slalom and skid pad along with measuring equipment set up for solo2 racers to test on. It would probably be tough to do something similar for rally. I was going to suggest setting up something pretty similar to setting up a ral...

I did a sanity check and re-read what I wrote yesterday today and realized I forgot to clarify something. I think what ICP meant was to make sure that all of your front wheels have the same backspacing. So if both of your front wheels have 40mm, that's fine. The rears should have equal backspacing t...

Scrub radius and static alignment are both settings in a vehicle's set up. If the car feels good, I wouldn't worry about. If you drive another 88 with similar set up with the exception of backspacing, and like that a whole lot better, then it's a different story. If you have money, buy three piece w...

Howard Definition: Scrub is the amount of distance the wheel gets pushed out or in during changes of wheel height. If you think about suspension geometry and reduce it to a simple model, the wheel travels on an arc and that arc is what causes the wheel to change position on that axis. When you increa...
