Re: Covid Restrictions
Probably not on your map just yet, but any idea what lumber prices are like in Canada right now? Through the roof! $9 for a 2x4, $80 for a 4x8 sheet (for 3/4" IIRC) of plywood... prices have at least doubled in washington state, a year ago, I could get a 2x4 for about $2, now they're at least ...

Re: The Hunt!
well, had my first interview yesterday, they seem very interested in hiring me, and asked when I would be available to come to South Carolina and tour their plant. it's a bit further away from where I wanted to end up, but the work schedule seems to be able to make it work. I still have two more in...

Congrats! looks decent, need some elbow grease, but looks like a bunch of it is easily fixable. Any shop space other than the basement?

Re: progress on the banshee...
I tried working on the brakes a bit yesterday and today, installing the new MC helped, but didn't entirely fix anything. I found there is a air leak in the combination valve, I took the safety switch out, and there was fluid in the cavity. I picked up another valve, and I am going to try and see if ...

I spent all day working on my kitchen, I wasn't expecting a cabinet I was waiting on to show up, so unfortunately, no car update. I might work on it tomorrow depending on how things work out, I'm still waiting to hear back on where the hell my countertops are...

the bleeders are on top, and at approximately the same position as they would be for the OE installation on a 'vette. I hadn't tried elevating the rear of the car, I'll have to give it a shot tomorrow, thanks.

I'm Nate. In high school, I bought an Indy that I wanted to put a Super Duty 4cyl in to. Now I'm old and it's still not done, but at least those 529's are funded. In my spare time, I'm an engineer who does ground testing for various aircraft. I always look forward to seeing updates to your build th...

I worked on the brakes a bit over the past couple of days, and I'm not making much headway... no matter how much I bleed them I still have s soft pedal. I don't see any obvious leaks and I've bled the master a couple of times now, is there some trick that I don't know or something?

if you have one for a 87-91 Suburban (GMC or Chevy, don't care) with all the wiring diagrams, I'll buy it!The Dark Side of Will wrote: ↑Wed Mar 24, 2021 7:01 pm GMUpfitter.com only goes back to '99... Re: the pig rig?
You have a large cap HEI? Whether you do or not, check coil primary resistance. The module does two things: receives the analog signal from the pickup coil in order to transform that into a digital signal to the ECM and drives the coil based on the digital ignition signal from the ECM. Low primary ...

Great to hear that you have a contact in the industry with first hand experience. I *COMPLETELY* understand Navy burnout. When the Navy is on one of its paperwork rampages, I get almost ambivalent about whether I stay in or get out. There's the quip that "There's the right way, the wrong way, ...

oh boy! new injector dead times made a HUGE difference, I now have a car that idles on it's own! not the smoothest idle, but it's huge step in the right direction. I need to work on getting the cooling fan idle adjust to work a bit better, ATM, it bogs the car a bit, but I should be able to fix that...

I wonder how much EGR flow is excessive, and if it could have an effect on turbocharger performance. is the EGR downstream of the turbo? a clogged DPF would cause reduced turbo performance, and potentially a higher flow through the EGR, or at least in my head that could happen.

I did a little bit of messing around with the tune today, I think a big part of my problem might be my injector timing data, I put a call out on one of the MS3 pages on FB to see if anyone had any data that I could try and see if it would work better with it. I input the new data, and started the ca...
