Re: WK Grand Cherokee Diesel
FWIW, they make a tool to change the valve cores without evacuating the system. https://www.amazon.com/Remover-Installer-Pressure-Refrigerant-Conditioner/dp/B0CBVBVZ48/ref=sr_1_4_sspa?crid=2IBF1IFN20WVC&keywords=ac+valve+core+removal+tool&qid=1693835532&sprefix=ac+valve%2Caps%2C653&...

Also, quick shot of double stuffed terminal for the alternator; a guy I've been consulting for the wiring hates these, but GM does it:

I've been running around like this for a while, but gradually losing refrigerant. Low side connection: https://i.imgur.com/6UBzGdV.mp4 https://imgur.com/6UBzGdV High side connection; the valve is integral to the accumulator, so I need to replace the entire accumulator (I have had one on hand for >1 ...

The flats on Rodney Dickman's "zero lash" sway bar end links are significantly too narrow for a normal wrench. Enter the way too complicated solution: https://i.imgur.com/9f4ET8I.jpg Send-Cut-Send has a minimum order, so once we got their system to interpret my .DXF correctly (They use R12...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
I did not devote the entire weekend to The Mule, as I have some PDH's for my PE license that I have to complete, but I did get some things done. The 22ga TAN wire arrived, so I was able to finish wiring up the MAF. The TE wire seals arrived, so I was able to wire up the DBW throttle. The 16ga BLK wi...

Lol... step by step. Alternator is wired up in the "hybrid" config FieroGuru did. That config sends the sense wire to the electrical center as in the Corvette, the F wire to the ECM as in the Corvette and the L wire to both the ECM as in the Corvette *AND* the dash light as in the original...

Re: LS4 build
I have an entire 88 suspension currently. What I'm after is reduced weight, and altered geometry to correct for a lowered car, like raising the inner pivots. This cradle would end up at about 35lbs welded with 1.75" OD .125" wall primary steel tubing. without mounts. Making something out ...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
I will be dressing the entire harness with heat shrink tubing... I won't be intentionally shrinking it, but it may shrink depending on how much exhaust heat it sees.

Re: Group buy: Front Lower Spherical Bearing Shells
Here is a photo I took of the most misaligned pivot (viewed in the direction that most accentuates the misalignment). By tracing lines on top of the image, I should be able to figure out the misalignment angle. Misalignment.jpg As a reminder, my Fiero is mostly stock, but its forward LCA pivot has ...

Re: Group buy: Front Lower Spherical Bearing Shells
For the '84-'87 cars, both bushings are installed from the front. I designed the shoulders against which the spherical bearings seat to be forward so that they, rather than the snap rings, would take brake loads. The '88's (and '84-'87 rears) install one from each direction and it just happened tha...

The throttle hose nipple diameter is 3.514". The MAF hose nipple diameter is 3.680ish. Who makes a 3 11/16" to 3 1/2" silicone reducing coupler? Lol. I snagged a 3 3/4 to 3 1/2 that looks workable when I squeeze it down on the MAF with a hose clamp, but the MAF slips out otherwise. ht...

Ask @Series8217 about his first date with his now wife! Just curious, but were you using an app or did you find her in the real world? Wall thickness of the seal bore under the weld: I had some issues with this in my installation as well. It's a compromise. Once I measure the eccentricity required b...

Suspension from the 88 but the high output LQ1 as top engine was the plan from what I've seen. Would have been a good competitor to the miata and second gen MR2 if they could keep the weight down. Styling wise there is a LOT of 4th gen firebird in that car, wow. You do know that an LQ1 is, like, 90...

They are right next to each other, but I'm not thinking I'll be bouncing the cradle in and out multiple times to build the harness. still have some dress up to do in the engine bay before "flight install"? Yeah, I need to do some hose clampery and plumbing in the engine bay. Trim the righ...
