Re: time/effort saving tools
I don't know the particulars of the controller until/unless I take it apart, but the stampings look all the same, and the control layout is either identical or some have a button or two added that other don't have, but are otherwise the same. Does the timer function derive from populating the same c...

Can you fit a cylinder head in one of those? Tank dimensions are 19.7x11.8x7.9 (500x300x200) All the "consumer grade" 30L units come out of the same factory in China... the only differences I've seen across Amazon and eBay are the quality of the drain valve and the artwork on the control ...

If you're just looking for a softer ride, install 1/2 ton leaf springs. If you still need to carry load, install helper air bags.

Snag a GMT 800 Suburban rear frame half so you don't have to do any development?

There are two different types of manifolds. There are FOUR types of manifolds, as van and car manifolds are different, as are the '07-'09 and '10+ as previously noted. There are FOUR LIGHTS... There are FIVE types of manifolds. I randomly found an example on eBay of a 2010+ Sprinter left manifold t...

Steven has ~450ish rear springs, and still added a bar. Also has 275 width ~200TW tires. The stock Formula setup includes a fairly large front bar and the stock rear bar along with (I think) the same springs as every other '88 has. The rear springs are slightly softer than '84-'87 stock springs (150...

If the oil leak contaminates your clutch, you'll be that much more frustrated and pissed off at it... and still have to pull the engine.

There are two different types of manifolds. There are FOUR types of manifolds, as van and car manifolds are different, as are the '07-'09 and '10+ as previously noted. A relatively smooth way to eliminate EGR might be to install van manifolds on a car engine and just block off the EGR flange on the...

I'm looking at repairing the oil cooler leaks in the last weekends of October and into November. The oil cooler is literally the first thing installed in the OM642 valley when the engine is built, so R&R'ing it requires removing EVERYTHING in the valley: fuel rails, fuel filter, intake manifolds...

After looking at potential locations for a manifold harness production break, and all the inconveniences and/or clutter associated with the available locations, I decided to ditch the manifold production break and just lay the injector wiring in as part of the main harness. I was able to get most of...

I tried reworking the original Caddy intake manifold harness last weekend. While the "modern" 2006 LS system powers each bank of injectors from a single fuse. The Caddy powers every other injector in the firing order from a single fuse. That means that each bank has two injectors powered b...

Jeep dash ptsd... As a rule of thumb, all shrader valves leak, even if you can't see it. You need to install a new pair of caps with a high quality oring in the cap. Maybe change the valves from a completionist standpoint, but definitely install caps. My wife drove an xj for the first few years we ...

That's shown on the dry sump pan. Will it work on a wet sump pan? The Wet sump pan has vertical walls, the dry sump pan is tapered. The mounting ears for the LS7/LS9 oil cooler will interfere with the pan. Now you have an excuse to go dry sump! :-D The LSA oil cooler fits wet sump pans and has moun...
