No... It's a Falconer billet 3" stroke crank.

However, it doesn't look like it would be too hard to fab a wheel that would make the external sensor output the same pulse train as the internal sensor...

You can't tell if it is 91-93 or 94-95 from the LIM. I'm guessing it is a 91-93. Does it have the front valve cover? OBD1.5 can be tuned, but so far the only one is Ben. And we all know how he has been acting...Sinister said he would have 94-95 tuning capabilities soon, but I'm not sure when. What ...

It would seem I have a 91-93 long block (definitely had OBDI LIM). Not sure what controller... If the 94-5 unit can be tuned, I'd like to use that, but if not I'll use $8F code in either 91-3 unit or 7730. My crank doesn't have a reluctor, so I need the external crank sensor to do the job that the i...

Ok, so I need to get a '94+ front cover and crank sensor hardware...

I guess I didn't quite luck out 100% with my $25 rebuildable longblock.

Any ideas on what year blocks are strongest? Were the blocks the same for the whole production run?

A friend recently gave me a book called "How to build high performance ignition systems" for Christmas. It was written by Todd Ryden (some goon who worked for MSD) and published by SA Design/Cartech. I have to stick my finger up my nose and put pressure on my brain to temporarily lobotmize...

King Bearing makes the fully grooved main bearing for uhh #3 I think. The rest are like 240 degrees grooved. IIRC the factory ones are 180, but I could be wrong. I don't have pics of my old mains.. I forgot the company off hand, ask Steven...Edit. The company is King, and the thrust bearing is the ...

Re: DOHC stuff

The two cam sensors should be the same, most of the sensors were compatible year to year. All OBDI crank sensors are the same. The coilpacks were the same for all 3 gens, just mounted up top in 96-97. I am almost positive the CAM sensor wires feed to the ECU, so the ECU takes the cam sensor reading...

Thanks. They're not listed under GMPD. I'll check on the price (can get wholesale) at the dealership.

DOHC stuff

A few questions I have about TDC/DOHC stuff in general, and the V6/60 platform in particular... I thought they might as well all be in the same thread. Controls: AIUI, there were three different control setups used: 92-3, 94-5, and OBDII. 92-3 is MAP and batch fire, right? ECM P/N? 94-5 is SFI... MA...

The first dyno isn't so bad, but the second is IMHO. 7000rpm, shift. But with a typical gearbox, you're back down to 4000rpm, 4500 if you're lucky. Now you're making some 75-90hp less than peak. That isn't good. I like peaky enignes, really high end with little respect for low end, but in a gearbox...

aaron wrote: How is not dropping ANY noticable amounts of power to 6350rpm falling off sharply?
Because with constant torque, power will rise linearly with RPM.

If HP is nearly constant, it means that torque is falling off linearly with RPM.
