Re: DOHC Camshaft Regrinds?

I don't think it matters, the set I sent in were from a 94 year engine.
talk to him about specs, he has different grinds to choose from. Afterall, he is the expert.

Re: Fuel Cell for Lemons/Chump

Chump Car rules only allow +2 gallons last I knew, and they have a caveat for small 2 seat cars that have no safe spot for fuels cells, they can be enclosed in a redundant metal box inside the cab.

Re: DOHC Camshaft Regrinds?

I had a set reground last year. The only place that would actually do it:

I had to arrange it all over the phone, easy enough and had to send check.

Re: WS6 TA or ZR1 PS rack?

Check my racecar build
87 GT with a 4th gen F Body rack.
If you have a pre 88 I would think Vette rack would be so short, and the rack would have such long tie rod spacers to correct the geomtry, extra stress on the rack bearing\bushing would result.

Re: Aftermarket Wheels

I'm going to be honest here. If someone is interested in your wheels at $4000 dollars, I will cut your price in half, and hand polish mine for said buyer, and drive out to deliver them. That is more money than i paid for my entire super-duty 84. That included the 3000mile car, DGP chin spoiler, scoo...

Re: 87 Fastback L47 Chump Car/ Lemons Project.

Ok steering time. Knowing I would never be happy with the factory steering I did get a rack from a 1995 V8 firebird: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b361/FieroWannaBe/ChumpCar/20150325_184140.jpg The motor now carries a rebuilt factory pump: http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b361/FieroWannaBe/Chum...

Re: Aftermarket Wheels

I have a set of the exact same Centerlines. Good luck at that price. I have had a 3 piece set of 18X10 Compomotives quoted for less than that... There is a picture thread on .nl that shows the limitation to the strut and body work for an assortment of wheel sizes. I would use that as a starting poin...

Re: ARI 3.1 stroker with turbo!

I'm going to take a wild guess and assume you really want to keep the look of the Fiero specific intake and valve covers. I will say that the Gen II and Gen III 60 degree engines are really not hard swaps, and wouldn't hurt the value in my opinion, all engines gm made are commuter car engines save a...

Re: 1984 SE Resurreciton

I think $1200 doesn't even approach half the cost of a brand new assembly. Sadly there was a whole Kinsler setup on ebay in June that sold for 124$.. No idea on the head that used it anyways. Maybe I will collect beer cans for a few months (practically free), build a 3d printer for $500, print a for...

Re: 1984 SE Resurreciton

http://kinsler.com/index.php/gm
Kinsler lists intakes for both style heads.
And there is probably a better chance of the Kinsler unit fitting without major frame rework.

Re: 1984 SE Resurreciton

I already found a used dry sump pan. I emailed hilborn. I'm sure a used one would be factors of 10 cheaper.

Re: 3.4 DOHC pops while cranking but runs fine

Ok. My bad, I thought all years had 7x and 24x, with the addition of the 2x can sensor in the later years.
To me it sounds like timing is off only during cranking.but what could cause that?

FYI for those that may care. Hilborn still lists an intake, that is stated to work on the '801 head:

Re: 87 Fastback L47 Chump Car/ Lemons Project.

I did Verify that the TDC mark was right, but its not the easiest to center on, and the factory flats are at 112 centers. I finally found my adjustable cam tool I bought a long time ago, So I will recheck with that to mark it appropriately so I can do some quick timing tests when we go to the dyno.

Series 1 injectors i believe are right around the size of the lq1 (22lbs) IIRC. Series II are 36lb/hr i believe.
