I've had the RX7 running for about a month. The engine has about 800 miles on it. It dynoed 256rwhp & 316rwtq. Just got back from the track where it ran a 12.956 @ 107.93mph on 225-60-15 street tires. I am pleased with the results.

edited for the correct dyno numbers.

Zeroshift

A seamless gearbox that is amazingly simple. This system could probably adapted to any manual gearbox.

That type of transmission has a common problem that is easily fixed. There are three rubber plugs in the rear of the top cover that seal up the shift rail holes. After a while the plugs get hard and shrink causing a small leak. The leak usually goes unnoticed because it only leaks when moving due to...

No power steering. It's a bit stiff when the car is still. Once it's moving it's not too bad.

McCulloch (now Paxton) built cvt equipped centrifical superchargers over 50 years ago. The VS57 used a variable speed pulley to change the drive ratio.

The lower lift and short duration on the exhaust side increases the velocity of the exhaust gas exiting the port for better response from the turbo.

Intake 290 duration, .472 lift
Exhaust 280 duration, 442 lift
Lobe separation 112 degrees

The intake and exhaust specs are reversed when compared to a NA camshaft.

Crower will custom grind a cam to your needs. They ground one for me for a turbo Buick V6 and it was awesome.

The best way to optimize ignition timing is on a dyno. I work at a shop with a Dynojet and have made 25-30 hp gains on customer cars with timing adjustments. Most of them are old school hot rodders with sbc's who use the "advance it until it pings, then back off 2 degrees" method of timing...

The diff is centered by the stock Watts' link. You can see the lower link in the front veiw pic. It's to the left of the pinion, behind the exhaust pipe. I fabricated the housing myself.
