Re: Stumped - No Start stock '87 duke

The other thing I have come across with those dukes that exhibited a similar condition is the fuel pressure regulator and metering cover / injector O-rings failed. What happened was while cranking it was dumping fuel. I would check 2 things. First remove the fuel injector connector. Have a helper cr...

Re: wheel shopping!

As far as quality, I have TSW's on one of mine for about 10 years now, and they are quite strong, they have hit many a pothole and always on rough / bad roads and are still round and true without any bends or dings. I payed a little extra for them as they are a little better brand than many of the w...

Maybe Aaron or Series might have something what you are looking for. This site is a little slow compared to piffle but the info is here is top notch so give them a day or 2 to reply.

GoPro mounting

What are you all doing for GoPro mounting to vehicles, Haven't slapped mine to a car yet so I'm looking for any input as I don't want to loose it first time out. Also do you run a tether for security?

Re: 88 L36 swap

Factory GM Keyless entry is temporary wired for testing, ended up removing door lock relay assembly completely and letting the BCM control the lock solenoids directly. For that I had to rewire the door lock switches to ground instead of the factory +12 V and also did the same for the trunk release s...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Actually I didn't replace it, the dealer didn't have one in stock and was looking at a week to get one. Seeing the bushing in that car was a bit tight and noisy I just lubed it with Fluid Film and put it back together. If the customer does return and want it replaced I will most certainly measure it...

Do you have a Hyundai part number or a parts diagram showing that pillow block? Try this link, it's part # 5 Listed as a balljoint here http://stores.revolutionparts.com/hyundaioemparts.com/auto-parts/2007/hyundai/elantra/suspension/suspension-springs-and-related-components/?trim=gls&engine=2-0...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Will an alternative for a sphericial bearing you may want to look into can be found in the rear suspension of a ~05 Hyundai Elantra. Its located in the rear knuckle and is referred to as a Pillow Block Bushing according to Hyundai. I had one apart the other day and didn't even think of measuring it....

Re: 88 L36 swap

If anyone cares, I'm getting 28.5mpg in city / rural driving. This is zero highway driving, a few sprints to 80-90 mpg, lots of puttering through the coffee shop drive through, stop lights and signs, just normal day to day use. 292 miles @ 10.23 us gallons I was hoping for 30 mpg in this function, b...

Ya 15 is cheaper than 32, he should have some prices up on his site, I take it one would need to contact him, for pricing and ordering?

Re: Junkyard F23 transmission and engine advice.

How much does Thelin charge for his adapter? That BMW hose is only 32 bux on Amazon. Get the M10 inverted flare nut for it and drill the hole out to 1/4" and flare it to the existing Fiero clutch hardline, problem solved.

Re: I finally picked up my Fiero! With pics...

Aligning the drivetrain isn't that hard, I built my own mounts on my personal install and spent WAYYY too much time trying to ensure it was centered and square before I realized I was over complicating it. Before you pull the drivetrain from the Fiero look around the engine and see how the axles lin...

Re: Best engine for what I'm looking for?

Pretty sure we all agree the L67 isn't the ideal choice for an engine swap this day and age but end result, it is the best choice per cost currently. Nobody has ever built a reliable proper Northstar swap, very few have pulled off the 3.4 TDC or Ecotech properly, all SBC and most LS series swaps und...

Re: Best engine for what I'm looking for?

Honestly the only downfall with the L67 / L36 is weight, but if your not going to build a purpose race car than it won't be an issue for you ( you will probably want to run higher spring rates in the rear though ). Sure it's old, it's pretty low tech but they are pretty much bullet proof and does gi...

Re: 3800 swap

Throwing boost at an L36? Can it handle it? I thought the pistons were not very strong. The L36 feels strong but I'd be happy with a little more go, I wouldn't be after big HP, boosting it to about ~ 250-270 WHP would probably be sufficent for me. If it blows up I already have my swap and harness b...

IDk, 600 sounds cheap but it looks like someones failed project IE: like you stated "It's the less desirable gen 1" the owner probaby got started and thought " I coulda had better if I started with better stuff...." I'd say with that car your gonna pretty much do the entire swap ...

Re: Fiero HVAC is it....?

The cold air / heat door is cable operated. If you can find a HVAC control head with a similiar setup it should be easy to convert.

EDIT:

If your car does'nt currently have AC then the doors are all cable actuated.
