As a professional engine machinist, I'm curious about how much boost you anticipate running, as I'm starting on a similar build for myself, and I'm planning to spend a bit over $700 for a set of JE forged pistons, with JE also supplying the rings. I figure this is cheaper than buying non-forged pist...

Turbo vs Paxton on DOHC V6

So, I'm putting the 5-cam in, and I was thinking an ATI ProCharger, until I got a screaming deal on a Paxton for a Mustang 5.0. Only with the hassles of mounting and plumbing, the turbo starts looking better. My concern is the tires starting to spin about halfway through second gear, like if I stomp...

As Series asked, my car is an 84, and if I'm not mistaken, it was a former employee of WCF who went into fitments. The claim was a 45 mm offset at all 4 corners, with 8s front and 9s rear. I'm concerned about running taller rear tires for the diagonal brake thing, but a 255/40-17 is only 25 inches t...

Tire Fitments

Hey all! Thanks to everyone who looked at my first post. So, My Fiero came on 215/60-14s, so I got a set of Beretta 15x6 wheels, not tealizing they had more positive offset, by maybe 10-20mm, and proceeded to fit some used 215/60-15s front and 235/60-15s rear. Anyone want pics? I think these are the...

Excellent thread! Makes me want to forget the DOHC 3.4 since the local LKQ has a dozen 5.3s with under 100k miles, for $500 ea., even if they are truck engines and therefore 65-80 pounds heavier. Not a big fan of the tall sidewalls on the front tires, tho. -Atilla

I guess I should specify I'm installing all new poly bushings, except where the cradle attaches to the car, and as I understand it, the bumpsteer mod consists of using a die to add threads to the rear tie rods, then cutting the inner mounts off the cradle and moving them out like an inch and a half....

Bumpsteer mod?

Hello all! New to posting but have browsed here for a year. Sorry no pics yet. Last summer I got an '84 2M4, and it drove really spooky at anything above 70. I want advice on doing solid cradle mounts WITH the bumpsteer mod. Can these two be done together? If not, which is better? This is my first F...
