Where I have been and where I am going...
Enter: Sinister Performance, LLC. That's right, I finally made it official this year. Some of you might remember me as "gmtuners" or have heard of a "darth chip" or "darth swap", etc. I have been doing engine swaps in all types of vehicles (not limited to Fieros) for se...

You're also not simulating the exposure of thousands of miles of driving on the parts. The fact that something was dissolved out of new rubber in a matter of hours indicates to me that more will be dissolved out in more time. Would be interesting to repeat the first step with clean fuel and clean j...

Oversteer, the fuel hoses, o-rings, and steel line are new. The OEM fuel pump is used. Today when I checked on the experiment, I noticed most of the fuel had evaporated. By this evening, all of the fuel was gone. The empty jars now smell like skunky beer, which I might add smells better than fresh E...

Approx 4 days have passed since I started this experiment. Earlier today I removed the covers from the 4 jars. Within 1 hour of removing the covers I noticed the fuel in the jars that contained the rubber lines and fuel pump became cloudy. It was quite humid today so it appears humidity is a factor ...

I remember that. Remember the module that had fuel lines running into and out of it? It has to be a fuel sensor to the ECM. Wonder how it works? Conductivity? IR spectrometry like a smog machine? If you were really crazy, you could jack that sensor and the ECM/PROM and go to town building yourself ...

After 48 hours I have some findings to report. First off, none of the materials show any sign of physical deterioration. With that being said, I do notice that the E85 fuel in the jars containing the new rubber fuel hoses and OEM Fiero fuel pump has taken on a yellow color. The fuel in the other two...

Read the FAQ, specifically the part on conversions... http://www.e85fuel.com/e85101/faqs/conversion.php I have read that entire article and all exept 1 or 2 of the paragraphs is strictly political. Yes they do say you will need to change so and so parts but they don't say why. Everyone I have talke...

E85 compatible? My science experiment begins today.
Today I purchased some E85. For those of you that do not know about E85, here is the rundown: -85% Ethanol, 15% gasoline -105 octane -about $0.30 cheaper per gallon than reg unleaded gas where I bought it -supposidly not compatible with vehicles other than those built with Flex-Fuel capability And n...

Oversteer, thanks for your input. I have heard rumors that some E85/Flex-Fuel cars came equipped with stainless steel metal fuel system components, including lines. At this point I think what I am going to do is just do that test, I have a Fiero gas tank sitting here off the car so I will cut a piec...

And the hybrid game, and the electric car game... Steel fuel lines ought to be OK. I'd replace all the rubber with E85 safe rubber. Not sure about the inside fo the tank, but I'd be real cautious with it. Does anyone know exactly what plastic those baffles are made of? Well at this point I think wh...

Aside from the fact that you have to rebuild your entire fuel system to be E85 safe... Glad you joined in because maybe you have an answer for me since I can't seem to find anyone else who knows... Obviously I already know that rubber lines and most OEM fuel injectors cannot handle E85. That's not ...

Hurricane Rita hasn't hit FL yet and Oil Prices goin up!?!
Hurricane Rita hasn't hit FL yet and Oil Prices are already going up!?! This is bullshit. Somebody needs to get a handle on this crap. I can't wait until E85 becomes available in my city early next year. That way I can convert all my vehicles to run on it so I will only be 15% of a slave to the midd...

Nice runs. Any idea on intake temps? If running 18 psi I would try to run straight 110 octane esp with that small turbo on it. its going to get pretty hot. You picked up a bit of mph so either you are making a bit more hp with your new downpipe or the track conditions were working good for you. OR ...

Went to the track last week...new PB
Went to the track last wed and quickly learned never to underestimate the importance of a properly groomed track. The track is Muncie Dragway in Muncie, Indiana and they have a horrible rep of not taking care of the track. Daytime temp was 80 deg F but as soon as the sun went down the temp dropped t...

Where is the best place to start a car show pictures thread?
There doesn't appear to be a "general" section, and I don't think fiero car show pics are off-topic either.
In any case here is the link to the pics I have of the Fieros at Auburn 2005 car show that took place this past Saturday, July 2nd.
