Re: The others

That one was the one I was talking about; I was being a smartass, per protocol. They still park in there! On the back side, it has an addition that looks like half-a-doghouse-cut-lengthwise for when cars got bigger in the 50s/60s. You have DSMs? Oh... it's *THAT* kind of neighborhood... undefined -...

Re: The others

looking great! later tonight I'll try and post progress on my interim shop, I think my real shop will be built using "Post Frame construction" similar to how a pole barn is built, which should minimize building costs, maximize floor space, and make the overall shop able to be built in a m...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

I get that Will isn't using one in a traditional sense. Even if only for reference, I should try and measure mine when I swap converters.

Re: The Hunt!

Is this Real Homeowner Tech now?

Pools can be chore, but if it's already there and you get use out of it why not?

Not to brag, but my new place has a city pool I can see from the front yard. $2 admission for adults and somebody else deals with the chlorine :-D

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

I wonder just how wide of a tolerance gm is working with on a flex plate. And how much of a contribution that makes when they break? I don't know... but I'm just using it as a ring gear mount. I've seen engine thrust bearings damaged by the torque converter ballooning from high temperatures... The ...

Re: The others

The trusses are built to give me a room upstairs of around 400sqft; most of which I can comfortably stand up in. I’m working out a hoist solution. Re: The others

I don’t think there’s a summer in recent memory where I’ve been so cognizant of the weather. We had a bad storm come through with 96mph winds. No damage at the new place, but we didn’t have power for 3-4 days or so. Unfortunately, I still have the old place along with it’s stupid giant maple. Someho...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

I did a Desoto hemi intake and it worked, but I had to flip the part to get all of it.

A 3x00 intake fits in one shot.

Is slab-on-grade a usual way of doing things in your area, versus digging a trench and having a footing a few feet down?
Mine is dug for a footing, but I’m not sure everything needs one? I’m far from an authority on this sort of thing.

Re: The others

Permits suck but great you finally got started! Yeah, but walking through an old neighborhood you can totally see why they became a thing. Since I'm over 750 sqft, the proximity to the back alley became more specific, as in I had to move the garage 2' closer to the house. On the plus side, it shoul...
