Why not? do you think that's too low? Remember that you're talking about an emissions compliant engine and that the design is 8-10 years old (don't know exactly when the B16 came out) The F20C1 makes 75 ftlbs/litre and should be about 88% VE. Toyota's 2ZZ-GE also makes 75 ftlbs/litre The current M3 ...

Re: Lets talk turbos

Lets talk turbos. I used the formula CFM = (displacement*max RPM* 0.5 * efficiency)/12^3 The 0.5 is because the engines are 4 strokes. The 12^3 is to convert cubic inches to cubic feet. I am using an efficiency number of .9 for the 4 valve heads and a number of .85 for the 2 valves. The most intere...

breathing is good for any engine highest lift you can get is good moderate duration... if you go crazy with the duration on a wide lobe sep you can get the exhaust valve opening pretty early and the intake valve closing pretty late. I'm not really sure what the all the negative effects of those two ...

Forgot that was so large. I emailed you a smaller version. That run was made with the IAT sensor inadvertently unplugged. I later plugged it in and it got a lot smoother and gained a noticeable amount of midrange torque, although I didn't get a second dyno run in that configuration. This run was als...

Dyno graph of my Northstar

I have a scan of my Northstar's dyno graph. How do I post it here? Maybe you need a PIP capbility :P

Just figured I'd let those working on the swap know what to expect. I can post subsequent dyno sheets as I mod the engine as well.

Most people are scared to death of wiring for DIS and changing to one of the most hacked computers that GM ever made. It's not that hard, but the people who pioneered it wanted to make it as bolt in and castrated as possible...

I think you're going for overkill... kitting a 3" step at 120? That's offroad racing shit. what spring rates will you use? figure out how much it takes to compress your spring to coil bind. Add in how much force it takes to compress your bump stop to the point of spring coil bind. Add an approp...

"Tires, Suspension, and Handling" by John Dixon.

Yes, I did drop an SCC term... :P

To add to your explanation, it's important to note that what I meant was the longitudinal component of the distance, not just the straight line distance.

To bring some of this together... There are two components to what is generally considered "scrub radius". The first is steering offset, which falls under the ICP definition that Howard posted above. This is a purely lateral distance. The second is caster trail which is the longitudinal di...
