Re: Brake MC compatiblilty?
I posted this info in my build thread, so if you're following that, you've already seen it. in my hunt for a larger master cylinder to match my C5 'vette fronts on all four, I found the GMT-400 trucks use a master with a similar bolt pattern and fitting locations to the stock Fiero. it's not quite a...

Re: High Feature V6 Swap
Not too much... life went to hell in a hand basket in the last couple of months, NoMad can vouch for that and has been a great friend. I did obtain a Griffin Radiator, same as Steven Snyder's but the 600hp version instead so a little thicker. 2.68". I then purchased an OE GM C7 Supercharged ra...

Re: 3900 headgasket on 3400 head and other lz9 info
Aren't there places that grind new lobe profiles by simply removing material from a customer-supplied factory camshaft? Delta is a common regrinder in the 4.9 community. They have standard grinds for 4.9's, as I understand it. Webb is a premium regrinder who can weld material on to cam lobes and th...

Re: progress on the banshee...
bleh, I hate brakes so much... My buddy with the LZ9 GT came by to help me bleed the brakes, we bled them and bled them, and got nothing. I used a phoenix systems reverse bleeder on the calipers as a last ditch effort, and the fluid that left the front right caliper was disgusting. almost black, all...

yeah I wasn't figuring it would be as easy as "hey comp, I want a cam" I have a stock cam here, and was intending on taking measurements and cutting a blank or two, and having that ground.

Re: 3900 headgasket on 3400 head and other lz9 info
I was really just going to raz Shaun about doing a VVT delete. if I can't get a cam ground for an LZ9, I might end up without VVT when I get to that point... that being said, I'm a real idiot, I'll make it happen somehow... Thats a clean install in that 88. 👍 Dam Str8. Attention to detail pays off....

Re: 3900 headgasket on 3400 head and other lz9 info
accessory drive fits fine, here's a friend's 88 with an LZ9 (LZ4 intake). he's running an E67 PCM, and the stock getrag 5 speed. https://i.imgur.com/znAyO0Y.jpg here's how he routed his accessories. https://i.imgur.com/UK4sqPN.jpg and here's a shot of a Lucerne alternator setup in a Fiero. I don't k...

Interesting... but just to be clear the LX9 cam is still a small journal cam, and will require you to use bearing spacers.

Re: Fiero on Jalopnic
It doesn't just "poke through" the decklid... the decklid can't be installed when the blower is in place. And he knows it's 90 minutes to R&R... I was thinking he was in CA and swapped the blower for CARB reasons, but he's in Detroit so I dunno WTF. maybe the fact that the decklid doe...

Re: Fiero on Jalopnic
That car has been around for a while, it's cool, but I don't think I could do $8500 for it. I don't like stuff poking through decklids. IIRC, the guy who built it was in engineering school, and he did the swap and the SC kit as one of his projects for school. He had a website up somewhere, but now I...

Re: progress on the banshee...
I'm going to be moving soon, so I wanted to get some parts of the car put back together so I would have less stuff to move or worry about breaking in transit. I got the headliner put in, and have the interior about 2/3's of the way complete for the first time in who knows how long. for those of you ...

Re: Covid Restrictions
Probably not on your map just yet, but any idea what lumber prices are like in Canada right now? Through the roof! $9 for a 2x4, $80 for a 4x8 sheet (for 3/4" IIRC) of plywood... prices have at least doubled in washington state, a year ago, I could get a 2x4 for about $2, now they're at least ...

Re: The Hunt!
well, had my first interview yesterday, they seem very interested in hiring me, and asked when I would be available to come to South Carolina and tour their plant. it's a bit further away from where I wanted to end up, but the work schedule seems to be able to make it work. I still have two more in...

Congrats! looks decent, need some elbow grease, but looks like a bunch of it is easily fixable. Any shop space other than the basement?

Re: progress on the banshee...
I tried working on the brakes a bit yesterday and today, installing the new MC helped, but didn't entirely fix anything. I found there is a air leak in the combination valve, I took the safety switch out, and there was fluid in the cavity. I picked up another valve, and I am going to try and see if ...

I spent all day working on my kitchen, I wasn't expecting a cabinet I was waiting on to show up, so unfortunately, no car update. I might work on it tomorrow depending on how things work out, I'm still waiting to hear back on where the hell my countertops are...

the bleeders are on top, and at approximately the same position as they would be for the OE installation on a 'vette. I hadn't tried elevating the rear of the car, I'll have to give it a shot tomorrow, thanks.
