Not much room for a larger brake setup in front with a 17" wheel. This is the base C7 caliper so the rotor diameter is 12.6 inches. The next step up is Z51 which has a 13.4 inch rotor. The Z51 package might fit some 17s.

Re: '88 wheel bearing and hub upgrades
I designed brake hose brackets that work with the stock hose clamp and my the SPC upper ball joint plate in my adjustable upper control arms. The integrated nut is an M6 PEM insert. This finalizes the prototype assembly. I aligned the car and have taken it on a few test drives. No issues so far! Hop...

This is the battery fuse holder I have been using. I couldn't find a cover for it so I 3D printed one. I like that has replaceable fuses, unlike the Nissan one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144794026436?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=4xahoaf6tgi&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=Ro...

5mm spade terminals may work, but there is definitely a latching housing that goes into those receptacles..ericjon262 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 4:58 pm Apparently they're 5mm spade connectors, the guy posting it on Facebook was looking for a source, I'll follow up if I find something different.

as a sort of follow up, the Blue Sea Systems parts seem to be holding up well, however, this was recently posted on Facebalk and seemed pretty intriguing. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B094Z5KD5V?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title&fbclid=IwAR2I-NeW3UhsYwzc6RmjYD38CvNgbjWE56pXBBH0Z24SUxsUgs...

Damn dude. Seriously glad you are ok. I've had the "wake up to a turn" experience and it ended similarly. No more driving tired. Really glad you made it out of this one without serious injury to yourself or others.

Re: 40th anniversary Dyno results
If I wanted to track or drag a car or build a dyno queen, the Fiero would be down at the bottom of the list of choices. At the track you'd miss out on an underrated platform. I have an E46 M3 Competition on Bilstein PSS10s and Hawk race brake pads. I have tracked it extensively. VIR, Road Atlanta, ...

Re: 40th anniversary Dyno results
Notice how social media and even Old Europe, noone is talking about the track day on the 1.5 mile course during the 40th. Why do you think that is? Cause it was lame. There were maybe about 10 Fieros/owners that were more track-oriented. The track had 5th-gen Toyota Supras as pace cars, which were ...

There are tons of them with the HFV6 and Ecotec pattern. As far as I know the 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP F40 is the only one that has the GM metric bell housing (60 deg V6, 3800, LS4, etc).

Any suggestions on where else to look other than car-part and the self-service yard listings? On car-part there are 3 in the US right now..

6061. I might switch to 7075 if I make another set to just to avoid having to use a steel insert for the LBJ. THATS HAWT! maybe I missed it, how do they compare to stock weight wise? Comparing the knuckle+steering arm+hub+LBJ the gain is 4 lbs per corner. The brakes obviously add weight as well but ...

Re: '88 wheel bearing and hub upgrades
Got the left side mounted today and tested the articulation. Found some minor interference to the lower control arm at full droop plus left steering with high caster angles, but that's easily fixable with some sanding, and I'll add a relief in the CAD. The real issue is my lower ball joint is sunk t...

Do you know anyone with an Allison in a working vehicle that you could install a CAN logger in for a bit? Just need a few conditions.. stopped, engine off. Start engine. Idle. Put in drive and stand on brake for a few seconds. Drive off at steady slow speed first gear. Then a gradual acceleration up...

Things are getting real... The first prototype billet uprights for the 88 Fiero have arrived. Feature highlights: Massive wheel bearing strength upgrade as well as stronger ball joints. Inexpensive 4 pot Brembos (Camaro6, C7, and C8 Corvette), 5x120 bolt pattern for wheels (BMW fitment with hubcentr...

My oil pressure drops during long left sweepers. 200tw tires, front splitter and a smallish rear wing. I overfill the pan on my LQ1 by about a quart. Oil pan is stock. Stock windage tray.
