New Ride

Manivan. :-D 2011 Traverse LTZ AWD, black on tan. Bought it last month with 15K on the ticker. Covered in an extra thick layer of dirt and bugs for the pics. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/FastIndy/DSC_51151024x680.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/FastIndy/DSC_51161024x680.jpg http:/...

Re: McLaren F1 Owner Q+A

OMG Are you serious?!?! This is probably your most thought-impaired week ever! Maybe you've had too much caffiene? I seriously hope you return to the normal you I "knew" until a few days ago. Spend a few minutes on tirerack.com looking up performance tires. You'll find some sizes of P-Zer...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/FastIndy/98148A162-1800x561.jpg About 15.8mm for 6°. There's still a small margin there because I'm assuming a centered bolt. If you really want to split hairs you could probably get 6 degrees with 14.9mm if you account for the bolt shifting off the centerline ...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Brief discussion with a machinist tells me we can modify the concave washers in a collet in the small Hardinge using a boring bar. That ought to be quick and repeatable. BOTEC's tell me we want to open the 14.2mm holes in the 98148A162 set to 16.4mm to double the angular range to 6 degrees. Can you...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

Check out 5448T12. At $4.45 each they're a little pricey for something you would still have to modify, but it would be an easy starting point. All you would have to do is chuck it in the lathe, probably turn the OD of the flange down some, and part the top part off. Mcmaster probably has something l...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.

It looks like that set will support about 3.4 degrees with a centered up M12 bolt, plus or minus a tenth of a degree. My experience with the spherical washers is that there's generally enough bearing surface on the washer to accomodate a greater misalignment, as long as you're using an undersized bo...

Re: Accel / 1/4MI / Everything calculator

I've got the air pressure/temperature/humidity correction working. The power output is altered according to the SAE standard, drag is altered as well. I also have wind speed and direction factored in to drag.

Re: AR Build

Is it illegal to own a suppressor, or to buy a suppressor, or to use a suppressor? :unknown: In my state of residence: No, no, and no. Kansas repealed some of its laws banning MG's and suppressors a couple of years ago. YMMV. This is a good place to start: http://www.atf.gov/publications/firearms/n...

All I can think of is how hard I'd have to backhand him if he got ahold of my rods... http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/6110/600hprod.jpg That point is when I hope that rod isn't finished yet. Same story on the compressor wheels. There's just something that doesn't quite add up with the OP on the E...

Any interest in switching careers to consulting? I was interested, but regrettably Victoria's Secret has turned down my application. Very nice! Useful for doing transmission and gear ratio comparisons. The horsepower and torque curves seem to yield more accurate results if rear wheel numbers are us...

Nicholas Lee Engel was born the afternoon of August 4th. His likes are petrol, nitromethane fumes, Alfa Romeos, and long walks on the beach. Dislikes are having poopy pants, people who wear white coats and/or scrubs, and losing his pacifier. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v87/FastIndy/cd9f3df6.jpg

Hydraulic hole boring machine? Something? WTF? I can't even fathom. That hole is nasty!

Also, are those tips welded on to a bore gage? What's happening with the clamp?

edit: Oh...Hah. Not as bad as I thought, but still...lol
