You did check your fuses, right? It could be the alarm disableing the starter. I had a problem with my 88 not wanting to start when I switched from the 4 cyl to the V6. Turned out the wire to the starter was in a different location on the C500 connector on the V6 harness. Maybe the wire is broken? E...

That is a nice BMW! I'll bet it handles better than a Fiero. I know my 525 handles better than my Fiero and my BMW has 160K miles on it. If only my 2001 E39 was a M5 and not a 525. At least it has the manual transmission.

Every Isuzu I have broken has been 2nd gear and went like yours. It's still cheaper for me to replace the isuzu than rebuild it or switch to a getrag. I think the most I've spent on an Isuzu is $75. I'm thinking next time I kill a trans I'll either switch to a Getrag or install a 6 speed. Lets see....

LOL! I'm on my 7th Isuzu trans. 2nd one for the 4.9, the rest were all with my old V6. :thumbleft:

I'd say around $5-$6K. Thats what it's going to cost a friend of mine to rebuild his E36 engine, and thats just a 2.5. I'm sure the M engine would be more. I know parts for my E39 are expensive at the dealer, even with my employee discount.
