You don't have to drill out the plastic rivets, just punch in the centers with a nailset.

In the process of collecting pieces and reading up on this myself. Mucho progress since this post. Inline spark check showed good on all cylinders, plugs on 2 & 5 were black, others were white. Compression test showed 150psi plus on all cylinders except 2 & 5- those were zero.... Took it all apart today and rechecked the valve lash adjustment, redid just 2 ...

Ya. Same thing my dad said when he saw the price on the kit; then he researched a n.o.s. tank for his 84 KZ1100LTD and thought $73 was a bargain.

Got my car running well enough to drive, and pass inspection. Has a little low rpm hesitation and vibration, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. I'm off wednesday, pics of my pos after I clean it.

POR15 has a tank cleaning/sealing system. You pour in a rust solvent, move it around inside by moving the tank, then rinse, dry, then pour in a liquid ceramic to seal the inside of the tank. My father used it on his motorcycle, still raves about it...
