That looks great! I take it the ATS rotors worked out, or at least so far they do?

There have been several small revisions, I'm almost ready to make a formal prototype.

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap
I misread Eric's post as "earlier LZ9 blocks" rather than "earlier v6/60 blocks". Yes, 4mm is well within the limits of the factory brackets to accept a slotted bolt hole. Are you deleting VVT in order to install a distributor and run it on the Fiero ECM? I edited my previous po...

my project complexity is high, but thankfully it doesn't yet surpass good old pen(cil) and paper.

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap
but why delete the VVt? it's not like DOD where it's completely unreliable (which might be an overstatement, but not the debate) megasquirt is able to control it, and it's not like you're putting in a hot cam or something, it's still just a plain old cam. The VVt does broaden the torque curve, and o...

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap
this point on the LZ9 block is about 13mm off the pan rail, and about 130mm from the crank centerline. https://i.imgur.com/QJKGfW7.jpg however, on the LX9 (and presumably earlier blocks), the same bolt location is about 126mm from the crank centerline. both are about the same height though, at 13mm ...

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap
This is still a work in progress, if you want to be the trial tester, let me know. This is based on an L shaped mount I picked up earlier, and an LZ4 block/oil pan that's been in my garage.

Re: organization techniques
Dry erase boards and spreadsheets. Also a cork board. For entire car build projects, giant sheets of paper taped to the wall were used to make a list of everything. That's better for a team of people to stay organized. I'm typically working alone, so the team aspect is less important, but a whitebo...

organization techniques
I'm making an attempt to organize my life better, so that hopefully I can accomplish more things, faster, and I was hoping that some of you would share the things that you do. In the past, my organization for projects was simply to write a bunch of shit on a cardboard box and check stuff off as it g...

Re: time/effort saving tools
in an effort to become more organized, I've been putting bolts from my "bolt bucket" in the sink to try and clean them up, and I bought a organizer to put the bolts in once their clean. I noticed the solution is really dirty, and if anything sits in the solution, a thin film of dirt accumu...

I started welding on the reinforcement plates on the passenger side, hopefully this next week I can finish them and the driver's side. https://i.imgur.com/lGXsCdd.jpg I'm considering building a set of stands for assembling the rest of the chassis, and performing alignments on it, and my other Suburb...

Re: Lz9 + 4 spd manual trans in 86 GT swap
Had the same thought which is why we are trying to source an 88 bracket. There is no upper bolt hole. I must have gotten my wires crossed about which bolt hole is there and which is moved on the GenIV blocks then. What else is the bracket attached to? One bolt ain't gonna work. I would like that mo...

Re: progress on the banshee...
I like the way you think. Realistically, I don't really have an option to weld them any way but how you recommend, as I don't have the capability to manufacture new pins, and the pins had to be cut to disassemble. I may try and ask about new hardware from Johnson one more time, but I suspect the ans...

Thanks, i'm kinda partial to bumper pad notchies as well, it seems like most people hate them... lol! nobody makes a performance lifter for a roller cam 60V6, not that this is any kind of surprise. because my current engine is shedding metal into the oil from somewhere, my valvetrain is very noisy, ...

Re: Brake system hydraulics.
I think I may try and build and install one of Aaron88's adjusters in the stock combo valve, I put together a bracket to hold a line lock using the master cylinder bolts, and bent lines to a stock combination valve, so ditching it now doesn't make a ton of sense. https://i.imgur.com/5a9qWHQ.png http...

I ended up getting about $4500 put in my pocket at the end of the day, it was a huge fiasco dealing with the insurance company, but I got more for the car than I probably ever could have sold it for. Earlier today, I pulled the engine and trans, with a tractor and a sawzall.... https://i.img...
