What about the 3.4 DOHC? If not, what do I ask them to do at the machine shop? Any reason I shouldn't?

Would be nice to get some baseline dyno numbers too. I dont know if I've ever seen a dyno chart of a stock 3.4 DOHC in a Fiero. Would be interesting to see how much of a difference the short exhaust and better intake makes. Do you plan on using a 284 with it later or will you stick with the 282? You...

Thanks for the appreciation. :thumbleft:

I fixed the one pic that I forgot to upload. Not sure why they all aren't working for some folks. If anyone can't get them to work at all just send me a message on AIM (perfectworld8217) or MSN (series8217@hotmail.com) and I'll send the pics to you.

The IAC and TPS should look very different, as your own picture illastrates. Furthermore, they are not even close to the exact same part, they do totally different things. Oops, sorry for the crappy wording. I meant his IAC should look the same as my IAC and his TPS should look the same as my TPS. ...

http://www.geocities.com/goldnapkin/00-JawDrop.jpg I came upon this and did what any sane man would do: pull over immediately. So there's a McLaren F1 prototype parked on the side........

.... of the road, just hanging around, next to a pair of Ferraris and some probably very expensive Audi.

And I stopped and took pictures.

I'm dead serious.

Posting them in a few.

This is on my 3.4 DOHC but the TPS and IAC should look the same, if they aren't even the exact same part. http://www.geocities.com/goldnapkin/sts-dohcsensors.jpg Weird idle stuff could actually be caused by either of these. You can test the TPS with an ohmmeter. You would need a scanner to test the ...

What are some good books to get on chassis/suspension design, tuning, and construction, engine building, etc? I'm going to UCLA in five weeks and wont be able to take my Fiero this year (its ridiculously hard to get parking), so instead of working on it I want to educate myself so I can do some cool...

Oh yea. Little tip. When you go to tq those bolts down again, make sure you use a washer. With aluminum you are supposed to use a washer from what I am told. And when you do, make sure there are no burrs in the washer. it will cause stress risers and dig into the soft aluminum. I've heard the same,...

His 88 GT has 8100 miles on it, and he already has need of replacement for his leather seats? WTF? That car must be trashed anyway. If I trusted the guy (sounds fishy to me!) Were the power lumbar seats available in both leather and cloth? Are those power lumbar seats?

Coulda fabbed a pedal stop... That's one way to get the right volume... could also use Rodney's adjustable banjo, or different master cylinder if one wants to get crazy. Better make sure you're pushing the right volume of fluid out your master cylinder before you try to use one of those hydraulic release bearings. Drexter had a later Isuzu from a Cavalier hooked up to his 3.4 TDC and went through a ton of them; I'm pretty sure it was due to stress on the seals from ...
