Ultimate Fiero toolkit?
Hypothetically speaking, say one were to pick up an 88 duke 5 speed Fiero, and was going to drive it home 2800 miles away, what would you put in a tool kit for the drive? My thoughts, Socket set with the typical gm sizes Small wrench roll in the typical gm sizes Torx bits The stuff to change/plug a ...

The wheels look nice, I like them better than my kojin's based on the above picture.

rusEFI?
dude posted about using this with an LZ4(VVT 3500) and 4T65e on old europe, it seems interesting, open source EFI like megasquirt, and it supports DBW natively. I haven't looked into it much yet, and probably won't go to far, as I already have an established setup with my MS3 pro and DBWx2. Thoughts...

Re: Dual Disk Clutches
There's a kit to pin the harmonic balancer on LSx V8's to prevent it rotating on the crank snout when a supercharger is installed, something very similar could be employed to ensure the oil pump is positively locked/driven https://lsxinnovations.com/product/ls-crank-pin-kit/ To me, something like th...

at one point, I remember seeing oil deflecting tabs like that being popular on SBC's, but mainly so that oil doesn't go everywhere while adjusting valves.

I'm using these same sensors on my car for fuel pressure and oil pressure, just at 100 PSI and not 300. so far they seem ok.Honest Don wrote: ↑Sat Apr 24, 2021 5:35 pm 300psi sensor from Low Doller Motorsports. $35 and comes with a calibration chart.

Sorry to hear all that, man. At least you have glitter for Halloween now. Keeping on after you get sucker punched is what gets the job done. So you put a new bearing in it just to be able to drive it? Was there bearing material adhered to the journal or just scoring? At this point, the idea is to m...

Re: progress on the banshee...
well, the past week or so has been pretty frustrating. Since I got the car running, it would occasionally have a tick to it, which I thought was a lifter not playing nice. I drove it to a buddies house and on the way back, it very suddenly became constant, and clearly not a lifter... Today, I pulled...

good job with the fan shroud! I would recommend, if there's room, remove the drain petcock and install a nipple on the radiator so you can reach the valve. or, remove the valve and install a flush plug that removes with an hex key.

CV axle parts, could be useful for custom axle builds, or just replacement parts for a stock axle shaft.

took the car to a meet around the corner from my house. it was oddly satisfying to see so many people not look twice walking by the front of the car, and then freak out when they saw the engine/turbo, it gets less attention than I thought it would, which I'm quite happy about.

I don't intend on building a boat or airplane anytime soon, but it is refreshing to see craftsmanship on this level. I think my favorite part is seeing the array of volunteers from all walks of life who have been inspired to come take part in his project. Honestly, had I known sooner, I would have t...

Re: Brake MC compatiblilty?
Have you thought about building a master cylinder brace for a harder brake pedal? The Fiero firewall (well, not really firewall, since there's no engine in front) seems pretty flexible. Example: https://www.fastwrx.com/products/radium-engineering-brace-master-cylinder-brace-fr-s-brz Yes. I have bee...

I posted this info in my build thread, so if you're following that, you've already seen it. in my hunt for a larger master cylinder to match my C5 'vette fronts on all four, I found the GMT-400 trucks use a master with a similar bolt pattern and fitting locations to the stock Fiero. it's not quite a...

Not too much... life went to hell in a hand basket in the last couple of months, NoMad can vouch for that and has been a great friend. I did obtain a Griffin Radiator, same as Steven Snyder's but the 600hp version instead so a little thicker. 2.68". I then purchased an OE GM C7 Supercharged ra...

Aren't there places that grind new lobe profiles by simply removing material from a customer-supplied factory camshaft? Delta is a common regrinder in the 4.9 community. They have standard grinds for 4.9's, as I understand it. Webb is a premium regrinder who can weld material on to cam lobes and th...

bleh, I hate brakes so much... My buddy with the LZ9 GT came by to help me bleed the brakes, we bled them and bled them, and got nothing. I used a phoenix systems reverse bleeder on the calipers as a last ditch effort, and the fluid that left the front right caliper was disgusting. almost black, all...
