Re: WK Grand Cherokee Diesel
Plans for this weekend include test fitting the Sprinter left manifold with the Jeep (OM642 car application) fuel lines. I will most likely modify the manifold to fit the original fuel lines, rather than trying to retrofit AND modify the Sprinter fuel lines. I bought a set of Sprinter fuel lines off...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
First, Japan is rad, I would love to go check it out again, especially as a civilian. Second, might want to build the VSS, and back up light harness with a connector so it can be be divorced from the main harness, and adapted to other transmissions. Japan is cool. There were the kind of snazzy JDM ...

Re: The Mule rides again (sort of) - pics.
Before I left for Tokyo, I finally got the coil pack harnesses DONE. The coil pack connectors for each bank have seven cavities. Four are for coil signals (positive side). One is for signal ground for all four signals and goes back to the ECM. One is for power for all four coils and comes from the c...

Re: project silver - 1987 fiero coupe street car
Fwiw, I did a tape measure alignment on my car. I set camber with an angle finder, then measured to the wheel faces for toe. Tire wear has been acceptable, and the car drove great. There's essentially no caster adjustment in the early front end... So if your tub and crossmember are straight and you...

Welcome!
Yes, Fieros look great in silver. I've never owned one that color, unfortunately, but I like to see them that way.
Series8217 has done a CARB legal LQ1 swap. I messaged him this thread.

Manifolds arrived back Thursday or Friday. I didn't get the chance to do anything with them over this weekend, but I did make a lot of progress on The Mule's coil harnesses.

Re: Lz9 rotating assembly weights
The SBC started off with 2.000" rod journals, then went to 2.100" rod journals. The 4.3 at some point (IIRC) had 2.250" journals to help with crankshaft stiffness because it had split crank throws. IIRC, the 4.3 started off odd-fire, then later GM split the journals to make it even-fi...

Re: Lz9 rotating assembly weights
So the big end would need to be narrowed like a typical SBC rod when converting to our engines as the LS engines have a similar rod width to the old sbc rod It seems that the coating comes off the rods at the big end, since that's where the rods in a stock V8 application share a rod journal, so the...

If you go used, you probably could find a set of Ti rods, on a budget. This one is $1,250: https://www.ebay.com/itm/266472618709?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=a2Ts-uUeSvq&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY I would be very cautious about u...

Re: LZ9 and LZ4 Fiero Swap Parts
Most people just modify one of the stock 2.8 brackets, however, I did test fit parts on a LX9 oil pan, and they do fit the same as they do on the LZ4 pan I have, with the exception of the taller vertical part, the LZx version is too short for the older engines. Would a dual use version be as simple...
