Re: 88 L36 swap
Yep, there's going to be more gusseting done in several places when it comes back out, I decided to not get too far along incase I had to change any mounts if it ended up really crooked. Along with the extra gusseting I'm, going to trim and tidy up the mounts. What's your thoughts on how far forward...

Re: 88 L36 swap
view of the rear mounts looking down on them, front side to engine cradle using same bushings. These should hold everything in place without worry. http://img818.imageshack.us/img818/7633/mo9z.jpg Put in in for trial fit and was surprised it ended up as square as it is, as anytime your critiquing yo...

Re: 88 L36 swap
I started building the mounts with the ends of rear control arms but wasn't happy with them, they looked way too small and kinda ghetto so I started over an picked up 4 fairly large bushings from the spring shop that will work nicely. Still needs some welding and trimming, not to worried about prett...

Re: 88 L36 swap
Good info Guru, I'm thinking on the engine side put the rear off of the transaxle to the frame, and from the front of the block out over and forward of the fore cross beam. I can also add a 3rd engine side mount off of the back side of the block down to the factory mounting pad on the cradle.

Re: 88 L36 swap
It's amazing how much you forget and /or never pay attention to. 88's don't run the axle centered between the lateral links, it runs more towards the forward one. I went and looked at my GT and seen this, looking at a rear knuckle off a car confirmed the alxe runs what visually looks like an inch fo...

Re: 88 L36 swap
The 4T65E is a beast to try to low mount the drive train. I spent 5 hours positioning the drivetrain on the cradle only to always find something really close to hitting. There's a servo housing at the rear of the transaxle that is conflicting with the rear bulkhead of the cradle and I'm debating on ...

Isn't that the truth, I drive new cars that are better in every aspect but there's something about driving this old slow ass shitbox.

Alot of import models are like that, theres a reason they don't creak, squeak and rattle like domestic stuff does from that era.Series8217 wrote:Is that foam covering the dash harness?

Re: New Daily Driver-Subaru content inside.
Expensive cars when new. 265 hp keeps its quick enough for daily driving. That's pretty good mpg too when fully loaded Actually Subie's aren't really that expensive compared to similiar cars in their catagory. -------------------------------- Akursed the 5 door really looks pretty good, IMO a major...

Re: Photo request -- Red Fiero with White Wheels
Theres a huge difference between a common street car and motorsport livery. To make a passanger vehicle look like a race car is just plain fucking ricer. Trying to compare a fiero to a Formula 1 car is just laughable.Series8217 wrote:

Re: Grounding of TPS sensor
If your sure your wiring is correct then an easy way to test your theory of grounding of the sensor is to simply cut out a paper or light cardboard backing to cover the metal area of your TPS and see what happens.

No way, only V8's can do that.
Oh wait, it's on a drag strip, V8's don't run on those.
Is that that Buick V6 over in Europe somewhere?

Re: New end links installed. More bushings coming soon.
If your old pivot shafts are in decent shape I'd be interested in purchasing them. Removing the upper control arm ( UCA ), loosen both bolts in the paddle nut in equal stages, if you remove 1 bolt then the other then the paddle nut might swing around and twist into a pretzel making removal of it fro...
