Re: New Porsche 911 turbo
It has new variable-geometry twin turbochargers, basically two different sized units--one for high end the other for low. How did you read "variable geometry" and think "assymetric twin"? No where in that article did it say anything about asymmetric twin turbos. Variable geometr...

When putting a front end back together with stock springs and UHMW bushings, I was able to bend the control arm all the way down, kick the spring into the top edge of the perch, then jack the control arm back up. Another possibility is to use spring compressors outside the car, wind several turns of...

Using 30 as reference... 30 mph = x energy 40 mph = 1600/900 = 1.78x 60 mph = 3600/900 = 4x 75 mph = 5625/900 = 6.25x For a given car (IE, assuming same weight for both times...) 30-60 in 3 sec = adding 3x energy in 3 seconds... x power. 40-75 in 4.7 sec = 4.47x in 4.7 sec or 0.95x power 30-60 in 3 ...

That happens because they are interchangeable on the outside... so an aftermarket outfit is going to use the same part for both. What I understood from Cal Kid's claim was that the factory Fiero pump was rated the same as the factory Vette pump... which is what I'm wondering. Not that it matters a w...

For comparison when I switched to a LS1 75mm unit on my 265hp DOHC, an increase of 13mm mind you, it lost a lot of drivability. On the dyno, the operator had to smoothly depress the throttle in order to not bog, and I lost quite a noticable amount of low end. Now the gains come 4500rpm were definat...

6 HP? 6 * ~750 = 4500 Watts 4500 W/ 12 V = 375 Amps That's not coming from your alternator... I didn't think the front pulley on my TDC engine was that heavy... can the UDP really be worth that much power in just rotating mass? Have you seen dyno result for it other than the MFG's? Dynoing in 1st or...

Re: aaron's 3.4 DOHC 88GT Build Thread
with the cams and intake I'll be building a set of long tube, tuned equal length headers measuring 1.75" x 34" primaries with dual 2.5" collectors. I have built a set of equal length headers for a 3.4 DOHC before, and look forward to doing this. Don't forget that the increased durati...

Oh, the headwork? Not quite done yet. But if you expect GOOD headwork (Not redneck with a dremel), you also expect a check around 2 grand. I supplied the engineer with 4 heads, he used 2 for cutting into pieces. He then ported them, rewelded the insides, and reported the ports to totally redesign t...
