There is a blue one parked in front of the neighbours house right now, not a bad looking car. Has some luggage space. Is that chevy's answer to the focus wagon?

I know... I took my ps pump off my 3.4 yesterday and discovered the ps mounting point completely broken off. This I assume is from mounting the dog bone to the engine lift point which also attaches to the ps pump bracket.... So I got fed up and said I would take the N*. An entire 03 STS K member wit...

Some N* questions

I will be picking up a 03 caddy STS N* this week and have a few general engine swap questions. First, I plan on using an aftermarket PCM to run this motor, I was wondering if the 03s had VVT? I believe chrfab sells computers to run any N*, I'm just wondering which one this is. Second, my GT is a 4 s...

When I pulled apart my "good" 4.9 it also looked like the head gasket was eaten through in places. Have to be sure to use fresh coolant in a motor with an aluminum block and iron heads. The older the coolant gets the less anti corosion properties it has. Alot of "cadillac" owners...

Fingers on the pressure plate are bent, 4 or 5 of them, badly. The flywheel looks good.

Broke my cluth (pics)

Well I was racing up a hill in town the other day, not power shifting just driving it hard. In the 1-2 shift I heard something pop and I couldn't disengage the clutch. I limped it home and I started removing the engine. This is what I found http://img35.exs.cx/img35/8313/s36000012wx.th.jpg http://im...

SRT-4, with a $3200 bolt on turbo upgrade with injectors, exhaust and piggy back computer will run high 11s all day long and get better fuel economy than stock. Heck a stage 3 upgrade on an SRT-4 puts out 350whp!! This is factory upgrade parts! As soon as my Intrepid is paid off, I'm getting an SRT-...

Your exhaust ports do definitly look better now. Going to put some stiffer valve springs on there? If you do, I suggest getting the steel rocker supports. The stock aluminum ones break pretty easy. Any Cadillac dealer will have them listed. Stronger springs may take the bolts right out of the alumin...

You have a sweet GT man. I say get it back from MTA and find someone else to install the fuel injection on it. There is no reason that its taking 8 months to get a carbourated 4.9 on the road. ESPECIALLY when MTA is such a great tuner and all... $4k is also not nearly enough. I bought my fiero in gr...

My 4. 9 engine cost me $1000 Gasket kit $400 rebuild heads $350 Waterpump $75 Timing chain $50 I felt it was necessary to spend money on a junkyard motor instead of just throwing it in the car and calling it good. The motor had unknown mileage so I felt I needed to pull the heads and pan anyways. Fo...

I had a 4. 9 That was back in the days guys were claiming it was putting their fieros in the mid 13s. I put about $2500 into the conversion before I learned the truth. I then sold my 4.9 and an 85GT at a huge loss. http://www.fiero.com/forum/Archives/Archive-000002/HTML/20040223-1-027839.html Since ...

The major advantage of the N* is its additional 3 cams. N* has the ability to make crazy NA hp. With chrfabs mild cams, springs and retainers the motor is good for approx 370hp at the flywheel. This combo is also good for around 8000rpm. It has a bottom end that can support 10,000rpm. Under boost, t...

Tell me when you are looking at getting forged pistons and I will go in with you. Should be cheaper for 2 of us. I will keep my motor stock till then. Are you going to use the 2.8 crank and 6" rods?

Will, are you saying with a 2.8 crank and forged flat top pistons the tdc would have 8.5-1 comp? Is this with stock rods or the 6" rods? That would make building a turbo tdc pretty damn easy. I'm assuming thats with stock pin and deck height? I was thinking about building the motor for NA power...
